Also, when did Alex Box get a good reputation. The place looks like a dated single A ballpark.

The Box has 3-4X the advertisements as a AA team and way more bleachers than an A team.

you could paint Truist, new Globe Life, Wrigley, or Dodger Stadium that abhorrent orange color and they'd all be ugly.

it's not the structure at UTK as much as the school color and their fans that rarely through the years fill it.

anyone get a screen shot or gif of the fat UTK girl in the crowd T5 inning holding up the home made cardboard sign that said "I Have Gas"..? - cause that was clever.

My prediction if Vitello stays there for much longer...their stadium and facilities will improve greatly.

Plans were officially announced not long ago for a downtown stadium for the local Cubs’ AA minor league team. Word is that Tennessee could play a decent number of their home their. I seem to recall the university considering building a brand new on campus facility or possibly trying to church up Lindsey Nelson—it’s not the best looking park for sure.

Vandy’s problem is that they built their stadium in a space that can’t even fully house a field and stands. They have a jacked up left field and is basically touching the football stadium. However, their locker room, weight room, cages, etc are well above average.

Don’t know, but my boy will play as a 14 year old at Tuscaloosa and Starkville this summer.
Also, southern miss and south Alabama.

He’s stoked.

the rest in the East are a mixed bag of meh (Florida, Kentucky, Vandy)

The Cats’ new park is sharp. Unfortunately, the play hasn’t matched.

There’s certainly room to grow if the play on the field warrants it.

Arky & Miss State do have top notch baseball parks... You knocking The Box is hilarious. When you can build a sign in the outfield with 6 National Championships on it your reputation grows. If Arky could catch foul balls they would only be 5 behind LSU!!!!

Now I've never been to the UT park, but from this picture it looks a LOT better than either the Rice or Univ. of Houston parks...and they're baseball powerhouses.

What's wrong with Tennessee's stadium? When they had that gigantic, fat guy as groundskeeper (don't know if he's still there), their infield was immaculate. As good as any major league park I've been to.

And what's up with the turf...don't yall know how to grow grass over there?

Growing and maintaining grass is a challenge in east Tn. We get 100 plus inches of rain and odd temperature cycles. Clover is the dominant ground/yard cover. Mountains really mess with the weather and growing times for grass.

Vanderbilt could play in Yankee Stadium or Minute Maid Park. The whistler being there makes it the defacto worst stadium in America. I think thats one thing we can all agree on.

The switch to turf was to fight off as many rain delays/postponements as possible.

We’ve only had one double header thanks to it despite having rain basically every weekend.

Why hasn't TN invested any more money in it?

Aren't they bankrupt? Any meager funds they have need to be retained in case they lose an employment termination lawsuit anyway

I was there about ten years ago and the grass infield was perfect.

Used to go to the baseball camps when I was a kid and Hot Rod was still there, the field was always in incredible shape.

But Vitello wanted turf so we gave him turf

You're gonna love the foul poles next year.
