Thomas backed up Sanders on the same team. Wrap yo mind around that....
I think you have this backwards Sanders didn't start until his senior year because of Thomas.

Matt Jones-I can specifically remember saying "Jesus Christ look at that mf'er fly!!". Watching that dude take 7-yard strides running 4.28 was a sight to behold...and kind of bizarre
Glenn Dorsey-monster...would take over games like Derrick Brown but IMO, was a notch better
Tyrone Prothro-3*, underdog...nobody thought anything of his commitment..but I lived in Oxford at the time he was in HS and the folks around there knew he was going to be special. His injury broke my heart for the kid
Tua-I've gushed enough about him
Thomas Davis-the athleticism jumped off the screen...but what I really remember about him is the way he would explode when he read the play...the decisiveness and the explosion...have enjoyed watching him as a Panther
Knowshon Moreno-NOBODY that I can recall in SEC history, had moves like him..that shake was other-worldly. I remember hearing a story about him challenging a gymnasium full of kids in high school to try to TOUCH him as he ran from one end to the other...they failed.
Danny Wuerffel-I'm biased...he went to my HS. Great guy...incredibly accurate in spite of not having a big arm and that's tough because it takes incredible timing and anticipation.

personal level, not watching them play because they were older. One I do remember as a pro, Bert Jones, and I met him a couple times in Ruston, LA. Just a great nice guy. Other, I'm too young to remember him in the pros but knew the name of course, Leroy Jordan. After my dad had a stroke, some weeks later my phone rings. It's Leroy Jordan telling me he's praying for my dad. A buddy of mine who drove a semi for Jordan's lumber company out of Texas had him do it. I told him how honored I was to speak to a guy who played for both Bear Bryant and Tom Landry.

liked growing up?
A whole bunch. One that really should have been a consensus all-american if they would have gotten him the ball more often is Cordarrelle Patterson. That guy was/is a player.

Maybe the #1 guy from a rival that I really admired was Roquan Smith, that dude was just a super productive LB that played the game smart, was a class guy, #1a is Nick Chubb, CFB would be a lot better off if more of the super talented guys had Chubb's demeanor and outlook on life
Those 2 are at the Top of my list, after those 2 is Justin Fields for obvious reasons, after all I gotta troll UGA every chance I get

This.. Even though I was Rebel fan first, fell in love with Gators during this time and pulled for them. Gators had always been my second favorite team until they hired Dan Mullen

I was an adult, but Honey Badger was a fun one.
Tim Tebow is probably the guy I respected most.
But I could name someone from every SEC team.

Bo Jackson, Tim Tebow, Dexter McCluster, McFadden, Cadillac Williams.
Cam Newton was fun to watch, too. That guy just knew how to win. You could just see at certain times that he was not going to lose.
