Yeah, that was a jackass block and even more so when you consider that we barely ever even return kickoffs.

Carter always plays with an edge which is great but it was truely uncalled for and was exactly the type hit the targeting rule is in place for.

I wonder why no one is calling this Carter character a "thug"?

If the same exact hit with the same exact force is executed by a player of a different ethnicity the term thug is always thrown around

I'm guessing guys like Carter are:

Gym rats

Discussed FB strategy at Breakfast across the table from their HS HC Fathers

Gritty hard nosed guys

Pulled themselves up by their bootstraps

Are a coach's dream

Gets the most out of their ability

And now we can add, "plays with an edge"

It'd be nice to see America in general use the same exact language to describe the same exact screwups regardless of the ethnicity of the person that is guilty of the screwups

Honestly, I get no joy in seeing any players called a thug over something that happens in a Contest, but the FACT that one ethnicity has that term directed at them so often for the same mistake makes me want to see equal treatment for the same screwup

I think Carter was upset that there is no longer a FB position in our offense. Nothing to lose!

That was a football hit. If his helmet was an LSU much lower he’s still the n the game.

We hear this bullshite all the time, but its bullshite.

It's like when people complain about QB's and WR's being protected too much. These are generally the ONLY players whose attention on every play is somewhere other than what's right in front of them. They are sitting ducks for hits from nowhere.

It's no different than when gangbangers play their "knockout" game and just coldcock someone.

Want to call it a manly hit? Do it when they are looking right at you.

On my phone, the first line of this thread said:

Really thought the thread was headed somewhere else.

He was going to get hit in the chest until he lowered his head. Still, can't go that high these days.

Only thing I will say about that is the touchback had already been signaled and the players had slowed.

I love hard hitting football but given the nature of touchbacks, it was the cheapest of cheap shots.

Generally for the confernece staying out of it, but his career should be over. This could have turned into something far, far worse.

It's not manly to sucker punch someone who was doing the right thing.

Given that after a play is over, anyone is susceptible and completely defenseless. What he did was thuggish and he is a thug.

Something like that can easily been done to your guys, our guys, everyone's guys.

He did stupid overly-aggressive shite on kickoffs and punts all game, and it finally cost us. I’m a big “let em play” guy, but frick that shite on a lot of different levels. It was embarrassing, and I don’t want him to have the chance to cost us 15 yards when it actually matters in the upcoming games

I simply demand "equal treatment under the Law"

Not asking much

if one of your players from the Metro ATL Area did the same thing he'd be called a "thug"

In your honest opinion, true or false?

possibly. Possibly not. There is a bigger lesson to be learned.

Maybe we should just have him executed.

Both players are same class from high schools in South Georgia. There may have been previous problems between the two. This plausibility is however not an excuse.

Y’all. Tory Tweets that every gameday. It’s just a thing he does. Nothing to do with the hit. He’s an aggressive, old school, make-hard-hits player. But he’s no bad character.

He made a bad hit. Ejection was absolutely correct. But He’s not a bad person. But he’s Never had any issues or played dirty before. And short of long term damage, UGA player walked off. Should be ok. We all hope so anyway.

the reason racism exists is because minorities keep it alive.

I honestly didnt know or care the race of the lsu player when it happened.

but sure, it was a thug hit, he is the same as ghetto trash.

feel better?

No one is excusing the hit. Pretty much everyone has called him out for it. As for the "thug" comment, isn't "thug life" a term coined by minorities and used as a badge of honor?
