Except a high 40's assistant coach who is not a cord is old. Recruiting is the name of the game at the top and head coaches are looking for road runners. Saban's recruiting went south 2018 class wise and he brought a new young bunch in and got a good class for 2019 but all of them used it for a stepping stone and got promotions and quit on the team down the stretch. So he shifted gears again. His staff is old man.

True, but not "the" top class.

Probably not the second class.

Says who?

And still has a top class for 2020.

I mean most of those guys that replaced the young guns who went on to big promotions are eligible for social security and everyone knows this is a young man's game. Plus you just can't replace the breath taking early draft losses, transfers and flunk outs. And 44-16! Is the Gold Rush OVER and the Bum Rush ON?

Uh oh...
Now you've done it. You've done riled up Cecil and Billy Joe Bob at the checkers table at Elwood's Live Bait 'n Lingerie Emporium....

You won't get Bama this year, but Bama will be down in 2020.

Everyone's in their 30s, 40s and 50s with about equal distribution.
That's pretty common on all staffs.

Saban's recruiting went south 2018

It was ranked #5, they also took less players and it included a punter.

It was the best ever.

LSU's OL depth is concerning. Burrow might be running for his life all year. Hopefully he stays healthy. What does LSU have behind him?

Will the OLOL and NCAA inquiry going to be a distraction you think? If O fails to get a 10-win season, this could spell the end.

Why are you seething?

One of these teams doesn’t fit. Clemson and Ohio State actually win championships. Georgia just wastes all there talent.

UGA has done more with their talent than Florida the last decade. With Smart doing more in 3 years than Mullen has done his whole career, that trend will most likely continue.

I'm just concerned with LSU.

If Texas gets them out the gate and with Alabama being a guaranteed loss and A&M extending its streak on LSU, I'm concerned LSU has no margin of error.

Texas is basically their season. The season could be over by the first game.

Who do you think LSU could realistically get if O is fired by mid-season like Miles. Since Jimbo and Herman turned you guys down, it seems there's a stigma in the coaching community about LSU.

Bama will still have more talent on the field in 95% of their games this year. In CFB, talent will win you a lot of games.

LSU has enough talent to where a midseason firing isn't happening. Ed O is an elite recruiter and is an O-coordinator hire away from making a run.

This LSU team isn't going to get overwhelmed by Texas. They lost a ton on both sides of the ball. And LSU ain't losing to Aggy this year. I'll bet you my salary and my kid's college funds.

I agree. If LSU loses to Ga. Southern the season will indeed be over.
J/K, the Texas game isn't make or break. You can still win the SEC.

That OC is on campus just not with the title. That comes next off season. LSU isn't losing to Aggy or Texas but especially Aggy. Aggy will have a 7-8 win season and LSU won't be one of them. Aggy thinks attrition only affects other teams.

Bama's decline is inevitable and will happen one day. But that day is not today.

Seems like college football is trending to CEO type coaches. Smart, Orgeron, and Pruitt are all elite recruiters and defensive minded coaches. After they get the talent in place, they'll just need to find the right o-coordinator to push them over the hump. Smart and Orgeron have a headstart on Pruitt, but I think he'll be able to get Tennessee heading in the right direction.

Having said that I think Saban pushed all his chips in for Tua’s and Najaee’s last year so he could get one more natty and pass Bear.

What the frick does this even mean?

Seriously.

It means he has an upperclassman QB, 3 Jr NFL wideouts, and a stud RB. Most of that talent is leaving after this year. Bama recruits great but if those 5 guys go pro after this year with the additional attrition they usually have the next Bama team competing for a championship will be 2021 or 2022. Saban went with coaches that knew the system that he trusted as X's and O's guys rather than great recruiters. It's 2019 or bust for Nick and his next NC.
