Yes, if you exclude UGA from your metrics

Also outlasting North Carolina is still impressive imo. That’s basically the same team that played in the National Title game last season.

Actually it’s not. It’s the same team that is dangerously close to missing this years NCAA Tourney. Bama is a great team, no doubt. And as a whole they are worthy of being the #1 team.

I just think there are red flags waving when the #1 and #2 teams in the SEC are a combined 22-2 in league play but somehow 4-6 in OOC Q1+2 .matchups.

States numbers were included in the overall record for the potential SEC tourney teams. That includes the loss to Drake also

I agree with you man….but nobody’s going to remember or care if they don’t cut down the nets. See that Kentucky team…undefeated, who’s prob the best CFB team of the last quarter century that lost to Wisconsin who lost to Duke.

That's a shame, cause it really seems like when they cram over 20,000 in Rupp arena they seem to be there for the ride.

That's a hell of a measuring stick you're using buddy. Takes a lot of ego and pride to make that the only source of happiness in following your team.

Let's just say if our tournament goes the way that Kentucky's team tournament went we will be talking about this team for the next 50 years.

In the meantime, I just enjoyed the hell out of Nat Oats and the BAMA team going into the jungle and taking the barner's lunch money.

Somebody is mad that they lost to a rival at home, then 2 days later they become ranked #1. Goddamn, orange tears are delicious.

We have some great coaches and talent, so I think the SEC is better than it's ever been, regardless of records. We may be underachieving, whereas we overachieved in the past.

I also think the SEC places too much importance on conference basketball games and don't give non-conference games the respect they deserve, although I think this is changing. Alabama isn't #1 in the nation because it just beat up on SEC teams. I'm sure that win over #2 Houston played into it.

We won't know until they play in the NCAA tournament.

Basketball?

Not in women's basketball, no, we're not.

Oats schedules fearlessly. It's why we were a 6 seed last year despite shitting the bed against a bunch of garbage teams. We picked up enough big time wins to offset it. I agree with you though. More programs need to load up on tough OOC games. It can give you a ton of breathing room if you pick up a few nice wins.

Yes. All around pretty bad this year. But the rest of the country ain’t that great either. Just lots of mediocre teams this year.

There’s a lot of losses on the top 25 board, as many as I can remember. This baby is gonna be wide open for all, including the SEC.

Motherfrickers just mad that Duke, UK, Kansas, UNC, et al, aren't hoarding all the talent and therefore the college basketball scene has been disrupted by Unusal Suspects like BAMA, Purdue, and Houston.

Wipe the sand out of your vaginas, behold the parity, and enjoy the suspense.

Oh.....you're talking about the ball that bounces up off a hard surface and back into your hands while skipping down streams of plywood.

Yeah, we're overrated.

I think you are either drunk or stupid. The SEC is definitely not overrated.

It’s not my standard. The 68 team tournament is the culprit in relegated the regular season largely forgetful. I’m making a flat observation not a personal one. The nature of basketball and a single elimination tournament makes it exciting. But it also makes for a very unpredictable national champion. Going back to the original point, it’s hard to say whether the SEC is overrated until March.
