Yes, Kick 6 is tied with 4th and 25 as the greatest plays ever in the history of football.

College or pro.

Umm, I think 2nd and 26 was pretty damn important. Maybe not the greatest play in sports history, but it was pretty seismic.

It wasn’t the last play. UF got the ball back but didn’t score.

Not that it takes away from the greatness of the play (which I remember watching as a high school senior), but there was still about a minute left in the game after the play.

But this play had literally never happened to end a game and it happened in a one of the moat historic rivalries in sports with two top 5 teams playing for a chance at a championship.

True.

That said, 2nd and 26 was between two top 4 teams to actually win a championship, happened in OT, and after the other team had made a 50+ yard FG to take the lead, being the winning team being led by a freshman who came off the bench.

The biggest difference is that Kick 6 has novelty.

would have to say LSU going for it on 4th down against Fla. Needed 5 inches, Hester exploded up the middle for 7 inches.

Everyone in the country remembers that play...

It may not be, but it's close. The importance of the rivalry makes it great.

Could be. But, there would be no true way of knowing.

Teague has the ball!!!!! 1992 NC Game

Onside kick in the 2016 NC Game!

The "SCREEN PASS" LSU remember!

The "WALKOFF" GEORGIA remember!

The "KICK" AUBURN remember!

The "BLOCK" TENNESSEE & PENN ST. remember!

The "SNAKE'S RUN IN THE MUD!" Auburn remember!

Oddly the kick six happened twice that season. LSU ran back a kick six earlier in the season in an OOC game of little significance. It was the first time it had been done in many years. I had never seen it even tried. And then low and behold, Auburn pulls it off too, but it mattered.

It’s not even the best play in the State of Alabama this decade. 2nd and 26 is perhaps the biggest play in CFB history. A walk-off 41 yard bomb to win a National Championship

When you put it like that, yes.

But kick6 was near impossible to imagine.

I am sure the odds of the play are very slim, vs a 3rd down touchdown.

But the theatre leading up to is with a 1 second dispute.

It’s all crazy.

No it’s not. David Tyree’s catch won their team a Super Bowl. The Tackle actually won the rams the super bowl. For college though, definitely up there.

Yes. Because it propelled them to an undefeated season, in the last play of the game, against their arch rival.
