re: Is the hate for Gary Danielson/CBS universal in the SEC....or is it just LSU? Thoughts?

CBS is the worst producer of college football these days. Absolutely technically terrible.
No way its worse than Fox. Fox is the absolute worst.

This is a pretty common phenomenon in humans IMO where people will remember the negatives that a guy says about their team and hang onto that but will quickly dismiss the positives.
This also applies to referees

Amen. It's the same phenomenon.

Gary is the only analyst mind reader. Don't you want to know what the coaches are thinking at various points of the game?

I don't like him but it is mainly because he will never STFU. Just take a breath, bro. Let us watch the game without your rambling.
He knows the game but when he just rambles on it sometimes becomes white noise.
And certainly doesn't help that his network makes a game last for 4 hours.

During the LSU-Miss State game last week, the CBS production crew missed a few flags (i.e., didn't put the yellow flag icon up, and Gary and Brad spoke over the ref).
Our RT Deculus was injured on a play, they had to stop action and go to a commercial break, and they never even mentioned the injury (pre- or post-commercial).
It was a disappointing production overall. And Danielson seemed to be on the downswing.
Still love Brad Nessler, though.

I hate Gary. He just jerks off to Alabama on national TV every Saturday.

Everyone does it. You know you do it too, when nobody is home.

He does a good job and that is a good time slot for college football with a national audience.

Last week he said something like "Joe, this isn't Jim Tressel's Ohio State offense"
Jim Tressel hasn't been the coach at OSU since Joe was an 8th grader. When he says stuff like that, I just shake my head and wonder how he makes millions of dollars to be so clueless

I think he STILL watches loops of Katherine Webb from the stands during the 2012 game.
Obligatory visual representation:

Saturday night Bama fans were saying he hates Alabama

Never understood the hate on commentators. I'm watching the game, I'm usually tuning out the announcers anyway.

I don't mind him, and his and Verne's voice remind me of SEC football. I get hyped every time I hear the CBS opening jingle before a game.
I could do with few commercials, however.

I like the ESPN broadcast

I remember when everyone said he was a Florida Homer and he loved Tebow. Bama fans used to hate how all he would talk about was Florida.
Sort of like Finebaum. Guy used to say how Alabama was terrible and would never return to glory to get callers.
Funny how now both are "Bama Homers"
