Is the current Alabama program greatest ever?

There is far more parity today in college football than ever before. For Saban to win 5 of last 9 titles not to mention being in one he lost on the last play of the game, I would have to say yes. Agree or disagree? The Nick Saban type coaches are very rare. What Bama has done under his leadership is sick.

Yes but keep in mind that it’s all Saban and not Bama. He’d be doing the same thing at any big time program.

At least I know who down voted. Jealousy does that. I wish we did what Bams has done, I'm jealous too but facts are facts. Don't be mad little guy.

It's not even just the 5 in 9 years. It's the years when they come up short and they're right there gunning for one.
The Miami Hurricanes are the only dynasty that can be in the conversation.
83: 11-1 National Champs
84: 8-5
85: 10-2 (killed by Tennessee for NC...#3 OU had beat #1 Penn State in a bowl and #2 Miami had beat OU earlier that year)
86: 11-1 (lost the NC to Penn State)
87: 12-0 National Champs
88: 11-1 (only loss by 1 to Domers in South Bend)
89: 11-1 National Champs
90: 10-2
91: 12-0 National Champs
92: 11-1 (killed by Alabama for NC)
---------
TOTAL: 107-14 .884, 4 National Championships, 7 appearances to play for a national championship
For reference, Alabama since 2008:
08: 12-2 (was #1 going into SECCG)
09: 14-0 National Champs
10: 10-3
11: 12-1 National Champs
12: 13-1 National Champs
13: 11-2 (was #1 going into final game of regular season)
14: 12-2 (Lost in Playoffs)
15: 14-1 National Champs
16: 14-1 (Lost NC to Clemson)
17: 13-1 National Champs
--------
125-14 .899, 5 National Championships, 6 appearances (7 if you include any playoff appearance)

Miami 1991 schedule was not great. The only 2 teams they beat who were good were close.
Hmm, 87 team no better to be honest. They did beat an 11-1 Oklahoma team so that was a good win. Okla was good.

Miami beat 6 Top 20 teams in '87. This includes #2 FSU in a classic game and top ranked Oklahoma in the bowl.
