Alabama record in Baton Rouge:
29-9-2

No matter who we get, I guess we can count on continued success in “Death Valley”

Coach can't hold onto local talent
,& they sign with Bama.

Recruiting advantages = no instate SEC team or large rival.

A1abana has the pull to get NFL head coaches from premier franchises like the Miami Dolphins and the New York Giants. No other CFB program could do that.
- Lovie Smith (Illinois)
- Herm Edwards (ASU)
- Jim Harbaugh (Michigan)
- Chip Kelly (UCLA)
- Bobby Petrino (Arkansas)

Plenty of college teams pull failed NFL coaches.

A1abana can’t just plug in a new coach and keep winning.

They aren’t LSU.

When has that ever happened at LSU?

What does my age have to do with my statement? Which we both know is factual by the way.

Cool, how many of those 60 Alabama players got drafted out of Tuscaloosa?

You said LA had an advantage over AL. Point it out to me.

Plenty of talent is in the state, doesn't matter where they were drafted from.

As I said above, we've passed on players from AL for players from other states and those AL players still wound up in the NFL.

For a total of almost 45 years. Yes, Alabama had a transition from Coach Thomas to Coach Bryant, and then from Coach Bryant to Coach Stallings. However the transition from both were less than 10 years. Sanctions stopped Alabama between Coach Stallings and Coach Saban, but even then Alabama has Coach Bowden lined up to come in the late 80's.

Alabama has the recruiting advantages in that they are in the middle of a great recruiting area, and is the name brand of SEC football (just look at the records). If LSU and UGA have such advantages, why do they suck at winning titles? LSU up until 2000 had losing seasons 25% of the time. Honestly if anything UF should be at the head of the table with their advantages.

I guess Kentucky should not be the king of SEC basketball by your metrics.

No other SEC team or major program in the state. Same as Georgia.

This is a widely accepted fact, not sure why its rustling your jimmies so hard.

So why did A1abana only have one national championship from 1980-2008?

Coach Bryant retired, Joab Thomas did not hire Coach Bowden, and sanctions.

Well with such a huge advantage LSU and Jawja should be winning it all every year.

What is holding you back?

So one title in 40+ years.

What advantage does Alabama have over any other elite program (outside of having two of the GOAT coaches?)

It seems you're still incapable of actually grasping what this conversation is about.

Again, this is about what is the easiest job a new coach can walk into, not what has been done in the past.

LSU has losing records to Alabama, Tennessee and Florida, and just recently took the lead in the ole miss series (63-41-4, so the difference is the last 20 years)
