The big ten added Rutgers purely for financial purposes when everyone knew it would dilute the conference talent.

Is Texas the SECs version of Rutgers? Simply an add for financial gain that we know won’t be able to compete but we know it’ll make us gobs more money so we don’t care?

Actually you added A&M and Mizzou for purely financial purposes. You invited us and OU to add historical acumen to your historyless conference. (only one blue blood unlike the Big 10 with 3)

I would say they're the SEC's Maryland, but...you know.

Brought them to raise the level of the SEC is every sport
Your conference wants to win National Championships in everything
Texas as the reigning Director’s Cup Champion will establish the bar in every sport

Florida does an outstanding job with this as well but as of right now Texas is above them and finally pushed Stanford off mountain top.

SEC provides us with more competition so it will help because the same schools we will be competing against for NC will be in this conference

All that additional money has to go somewhere. Can’t spend 200 million just on football.
Not everyone can win at football no matter how many elite teams you put in one conference. Everyone except Missouri is elite in something in this conference. Unlike the Big 12. Some of those schools never beat Texas in certain sports the entire time in the conference

Losing to Maryland twice is so embarrassing. How do they live with themselves? Once I get. But twice? TWICE?

Maryland vs SEC

Don’t think certain fanbases should be talking.

To be fair Bear Bryant built Maryland into the behemoth they are today.

No, Texas A&M is your Rutgers..
Neither has won a Football NC since 1940..
Both have only won 1 Football CC in the last 25 years..
Both have 2 All Time wins in Omaha..
Neither has won a National Championship in Basketball..
Both are AAU schools..
Both come from very populated states.. which was needed for expansion

Texas A&M = Rutgers

Ouch.

Texas is your Miami in baseball.. big brand with 4+ National Championships who makes a run in Omaha at least 2x every decade..

Texas is your Arkansas in basketball.. good basketball team with 3+ final fours and 7+ elite eights, but no National Championships when they joined the conference..

Texas is your Nebraska in football.. big brand with 4+ National Championships, but both are currently wondering the desert..
