Is State bringing back the interlocking MSU?

Is this great 90s logo going to make a comeback?
Background:
For years, there was a rumor that Nike "owned" the logo and when Jackie Sherrill got pissed at Nike for the Oregon debacle, Nike took the logo. But in subsequent years, it showed up at both Montana State and Midwestern State (Texas). It's a constant topic on MSU boards because most fans prefer it over the current M-State.
The M-State was born because our basketball team played Marshall. Richard Williams liked their logo and dreamed up a basketball only logo that ended up becoming the primary logo. It was "modernized" in 2009 with Mullen's arrival and has been the primary logo since.
But back to the interlocking MSU. The new AD from Oklahoma has been receptive to bringing it back. Yesterday, a MSU board linked some new swim trunks with the MSU logo on it. The official Hail State store was selling them. Now, they have been removed.

That logo is so much better than the M State logo. Hopefully he makes the change.

They should. The new AD would win a lot of fans very quick if they did. I feel like merchandise would see a big bump. It’s so much nicer than what they have now

Most underrated home uni. And the interlocking msu was a great field logo.

I grew up a state fan before going to Ole Miss, and honestly I’d probably buy a shirt or hat if they brought this logo back. Lots of nostalgia

It’s an outstanding logo for a baseball cap or a baseball jersey
It doesn’t work for a football helmet
Football helmets logos should look the same on both sides.

Yeah, I agree. LSU's helmet should say "LSU" on the right side and "USL" on the left.

The variation between how fantastic State's baseball uniforms/logo is and how bad all their other teams logos/uniforms are is wild.
The hat and all the old school baseball uniforms they wear are probably my favorite in college baseball. Every version of their football jerseys/helmet dating back to since I've been alive have been somewhere between bleh and awful. Even the Madkin era Nike ones, with the solid logo on the helmet, had a jersey that literally said "Miss. State" on it.
"Miss."? I mean, come on.

Was a rumor for years but no. Which brings up a question does any major brand (Nike, addidas, etc.) actually have the right to own a schools logo? That seems criminal almost. A schools logo should belong to that school..

Always liked the interlocking one. Not that the new doesn't look good. And how can Nike own the interlocking MSU logo. I'm sure they were using that before Nike came around huh?

Nike does not own the logo. That was a myth thrown out by our old AD as cover to why they could not continue to use it
