I think the upper echelon SEC teams still get good enough talent and given the right coaches/recruiters could compete with Alabama. So I guess I'm saying he's good for the league.

Gee, I dunno. It might be because Bama has produced more first round draft picks than anyone else in the SEC by a significant margin
Maybe because most those first rounders would have still got there no matter where they went. It's not hard to get a player with 5* talent drafted.

What is Auburn's excuse then?

At this point he'll be remembered as a great college coach and as someone whole saw the writing on the wall and ran away from the NFL. His who style is predicated on out talenting the opponent. If he wants the Supreme Legacy, he should go give the NFL a whirl for a few years before he's too old. He only has 4-5 years left in the tank anyway.

I would guess Trent Richardson is just sitting around counting how much more money he made than an UDFA

He's probably sitting around perusing Indeed.com or Monster.com at a Starbucks. Alexander if he keeps playing the way he's been playing is going to get a sweeeeeeet contract in the next two years far outstripping whatever Richardson has made

My point was that the fact that a person can get to the NFL from either program and they tend to do it in equal numbers irrespective of draft position which as the Richardson example proves, means.....nothing

If you want more money, draft position certainly does matter. Your college and college coach can only help you with that first contract, and Bama has gotten more of their players drafted in the first round recently. Of course there are going to be busts and guys that were undrafted who go on to great careers, but don't act like draft position of players leaving a program isn't important to recruits

That's a pretty big number....Obviously it's harder for some programs to get their 5*'s drafted.

You buy enough 5*s and eventually you are going to get one drafted.

Now list all the ones Saban didn't get drafted. Especially since you want to count players that left Auburn or got kicked off the team.

Don't you hate y'all blew y'alls wad on one player. At least you got one NC out of it. AU could probably afford to buy a few more 5* if y'all weren't paying all of the coaches y'all have fired and have to keep hushed up. I wonder if Terry still has his ledger? Well Wayne's ledger.

Top heavy conferences, over a long period, are never good. Ask the old big 8 or deteriorating big 12.

You Bama fans are out of touch. How many head coaches have been replaced since Saban went to Bama? This has nothing to do with just LSU making a shitty hire. This is EVERY SEC SCHOOL

Miss St seems to be doing pretty well.

Don't care.

My undergrad and grad degrees both say "The University of Alabama" not "The University of SEC".

And everyone whining about Saban "ruining the SEC" sure didn't give one shite about the SEC when y'all rooted for Texas, Notre Dame, Oklahoma, Ohio State, and Clemson to beat us and deny the SEC a national championship.

Y'all don't whine about LSU "ruining the SEC" when baseball season rolls around or UK "ruining the SEC" during basketball season.

This about Alabama and the fact that y'all aren't over him and can not believe he's in his 10th season at Alabama. Period.

IF a team is good enough, & beats AlaBama, for the sec title, they'll prolly be good enough to win it all.

For instance, Tennessee in 1998, when they finally got past Florida...

The problem for the SEC isn't Saban, the problem is the massive overreaction of almost every SEC team in trying to catch him. Sometimes being a top 10 team sharing a conference with a legend of a coach is good enough.

shite, you're right. I was just subtracting 2017-2007.

ELEVENTH. YEAR.

How many "Enjoy him now. He won't stay for four years!" declarations did we Bama fans hear?
