Yes. LSU is better than these programs you listed:
- Notre Dame (not even close, Indiana recruiting vs Louisiana)
- Texas (Texas is average in NFL players per capita and splitting players between 6 schools. Although Texas has more money)
- Florida (splitting between 3 major universities)
- USCw (Oregon seems to get first picks in California now with Nike money, and splitting between many other schools, although it definitely has potential bc Cal and Stanford and UCLA suck)
- Oregon (Pacific Northwest has the worst recruiting in the country. They are entirely dependent on poaching kids thousands of miles away. As soon as Nike money stops, if it ever does, they aren’t even a Top 25 program without Nike).
Only teams listed that I think is a better job:
- UGA most
- Bama 2nd
- Ohio St 3rd (although Louisiana has significantly better recruiting than Ohio, Ohio goes into other states. However Ohio St would suck if they picked up as many in state recruits as LSU does).
Then why doesn't LSU hire coaches like a top5 job?
Les Mile -.500 Big12 coach.
Coach O - I think his win % was below 30%
Brian Kelly - Only LSU fans thought he could be the guy.
Is this going to be the year you prove it?

That's a NO on FSU.
Wow.

Florida may be split between 3 schools but we have all done well since the population shift in the 80's.
Miami 5 nattys
Florida 3 titles
FSU 3 titles
So the split hasn't hurt much it seems.

Those LA boys were not staying home before Saban and it could change again.
I remember Bowden used to get who he wanted from LA.
Also, per capita sounds nice but the sheer numbers of HS players are not enough for it to be a huge advantage over programs based in FL, TX and GA IMO.
ESPN TOP 300 players
FL-50
GA-35
TX-35
LA- 11

Exactly
'25 24/7 Blue Chips per state
Georgia-64
Florida-62
Louisiana-17
The "per capita" narrative can only be taken so far especially with a state that's losing population
or remaining stagnant.

Good job but a tough job. What other program has fired 2 national championship winning coaches?

I see two national championship winning coaches in this list. You’re the one that said “being the guy” is a requirement of a successful coach right?

Wrong
Ohio produces just as much talent if not more than Louisiana and able to recruit nationally because of their brand and alumni base.

No. I'm the guy who thinks the topic is kind of dumb because of factors that actually matter like coaching preferences and timing. So I'm poking fun and holes in all the dumb claims.

In the SEC? Definitely. Nationally? Not quite imo.
It will be a more appealing job when they get a proper university president back in control and this buffoon governor out of the way. May need to change AD as well, but don't kid yourself, it's a good job.

This is a good ranking, but USCw and Nebraska are too high.

Better Jobs in no particular order:
UGA
Bama
Texas
Florida
Notre Dame
Ohio St.
USCw
Oregon (in the NIL era
They're at least as good as Georgia lol
I'd have Texas, Notre Dame, Ohio State, and USC as the top jobs.

Florida is not a better job
LSU is a better job than ND, evidence: our last HC was their former HC

Who cares? You can win a title at LSU just as easy as you can anywhere else.
I guess my question to this would be...why haven't they? I mean Alabama, Oklahoma, Ohio State, USCw, Michigan and Notre Dame have all won significantly more titles.
CAN a title be won at LSU? Yes. Is it "just as easy"? Probably not. So, you have to look at the difference in the programs.
Administration backing
Financing
Coaching
Facilities
Alabama is a pretty good example. They have caught lightening in a bottle with the two greatest coaches of all time, arguably. But, beside that, they have won several other titles with lesser coaches. I think Alabama, Oklahoma, Notre Dame, Michigan and USCw are good examples of hiring the right coaches and having administration willing to pour money into facilities and other types of support into the program....not to mention financial backing from boosters.
Of those, the ones that seem to still have that fire are Alabama and Ohio State. Notre dame seems to be creeping back into the mix. The others have varying levels of commitment.
I would not say it is "just as easy" for LSU to win, though, but they have caught lightening in a bottle twice with coaches who might normally not have won anything in Les Miles and Ed Orgeron.

A per capita argument is always a curious one for me. Idaho could have a per capita advantage but it would not make it a stronger state football wise.
I mean, if (And this could never happen) Georgia were to keep every blue chip player too stay in Georgia and LSU were to keep every blue Chip player in Louisiana to stay at LSU, who do you think would win the head to head matchup in the football game?

Don’t let facts get in the way of your hatred for Oklahoma.
Oklahoma will always be a top coaching position because of history, tradition, and easy access to Texas players.
