This is actually a pretty good thread. Puts in perspective how drab Tennessee's stadium is.

A lot of the buildings on Tennessee's campus do. Not an attractive campus by any stretch.

TBA is a bizarre ugly building on the outside but the inside is a whole different story. I was pleasantly surprised.

It's a nice little ballpark.

I think it’s cute, looks old school. I realize it needs updates to match the rest of us but their fans can make it rock as is and in essense isn’t that a lot of what it’s all about?

its small 4200 I think and they cant really do any expansion other than down the third base line outfield by what they call porch patio they could go up and cantilever over a portion of it but they have a boundary with todd helton drive which they could dc that road but. Ideally they prob only should add maybe 1500 more seats try to get some demand for baseball they are the worst team historically in the SEC as per hover appearances, they need to do it in stages but if they cant keep sweet tony as coach their will be no need for any expansion. Hell when UT built their new aquatic center the alan jones pool UT went to ask Mr Jones for money and someone made the Athletic department that Mr Jones kid did not get accepted into UT UTK is a shite show and I dont expect anything other than more cluster fricks from them.

No wonder Vitello wants assurances on facilities. That is a terrible park.

No worries, he’s gotten plenty of assurances. Plenty of upgrades are coming

In all seriousness how is the stadium so bad?

Winter/spring weather makes growing grass difficult. They get a ton of rain up there. TV requested the field change so we did it. TV has requested a bunch of other changes and will get them. The whole 3rd base line will get a large renovation that will wrap around to LF with a double decked porch. Chairbacks throughout the park and some other changes in the plans for RF as well. They will remove the road that goes behind the park, which should open things up as far as allowing room for more renos. TV has asked for A,B, and C as far as renovations, salary bumps for staff, etc. and has been offered it all. If he chooses to go elsewhere, it wasn’t for lack of trying by the AD. The current feeling within the AD is that he’s not going anywhere fwiw.

Current president is Randy Boyd. Has a ton of connections to minor and major league ball. He has spearheaded the new stadium that will go up in downtown Knox. The thought is that TN will play most of the bigger series there to accommodate the games/series with larger expected attendance. Boyd is a baseball guy and is tight with TV, which has helped the feeling mentioned before about TV not going anywhere.
