He seems oblivious to what the other conferences are doing around the SEC putting all sec teams at a huge disadvantage when it comes to scheduling

Dude half the field makes the playoff now and that number is going to grow. If you are on the bubble and don't get in that is on you

Sankey can't help that outside of the SEC and a few top programs in the ACC and Big 10, the majority of college football is dog shite.

Sankey sucks and needs to go. Huge dropoff from Slive.

I hate the Big 10, but 3 straight titles from 3 different teams in the playoff era says they don't suck

By moving to 9 conference games, he spinkled rose petals on the B1G's ability to top load the playoffs. That's 8 more losses for SEC teams. It was a stupid, stupid move. He needs to go.

Maybe you aren't smart to think Sankey is over his head?

Sankey's moment to shine was the media contarct. He had the best product in college sports by a wide margin and he failed miserably. Needs to go.

This to me is the main complaint, in addition to a number of others on the policy front. A 9-game schedule is more a fair debate as to what his charge is: excellent in-conference product and the highest-value content for the media, or jury-rigging our conference teams’ ability to make the playoff

He had a good run. Things were rolling. Other conferences have caught up with the Big winning 3 in a row. I've never cared for him so wouldn't mind seeing him go ( but I personally like going to 9 SEC games just for the competition and less cupcakes on the schedule.

Sankey isn't unilaterally making decisions. He has to get approval from the members.

9 game conf schedule also gave ABC/ESPN improved content. Conference got nothing for this either.

bullshite. He can't deliver or close a deal. He is the one that should be advocating for the conference and he even fails at that. He has failed at negotiating and communicating. He has proven himself as a minnow in a tank of sharks.

In a war, you need a champion warrior but he is just a fig waving a sword around.

Ridiculous take. He controls the agenda and he controls the information.

That’s correct — Sankey’s deal skills and ability to monetize value are pathetically bad.

Did we leave $300mm on the table because of his poor value capture and inability to see the pending 9th game content kicker? $600mm?

And how consequential has his lack of foresight been to boxing the SEC in to limited alternatives? Kramer, and Slive too, were great at remaining on the offensive to give the SEC options by curating the playing field (conference expansion, SECCG, exclusive media rights with CBS, etc.)

Given the current landscape, the SEC should have broken away, they should have written their own rules for scheduling, eligibility, postseason, and relationship with the NFL. But Sankey’s lack of foresight and crappy media deal with ABC/ESPN locked us into the status quo that’s so dysfunctional and broken.

Sankey has just been a tardy administrator and peer follower, in a politician’s clothing, doing nothing well other than sitting at a podium as an empty suit

Maybe they get one more team as a result? Who cares. Anything beyond the top 4 is welfare

Actually, each team will lose the revenue from hosting a home game every other year.

Georgia has a 94 thousand seat stadium and will only host 6 games next year. The local Athens economy will lose about 1.5 million dollars due to the change.

Sankey is more responsive to ESPN/ABC than he is to the programs.

This is my primary complaint. If we were going to 9, there needed to be some money on the table for the schools.

Sankey has failed on many levels.
The media rights contract.
Media relations. (A clogged toilet has a better personality)
Unifying the conference members. As much as some give him pseudo praise, he can't get them to agree on anything. Look how long they danced around the 9 game schedule and the rotation.
Discussions with lawmakers.
Also, he has zero to do with individual programs success any sport.

By far, Petitti runs circles around old sour puss Greg.

I assume that he is commissioner for life and that's to the SEC's detriment.
