Nothing spewed by that BS source was factual.

The relationship between the SEC office and A&M is irreparablely fractured after the OU/Texas acquisition.

Things are not as kumbaya as they might seem to you. A&M wants out(coincidentally the rest of the conference either wants them out or are indifferent) and a big offer from the Big10 WILL be enough to make it happen.

Uh, the finances say otherwise.

Tech is spending over $40m on their roster this year, they don’t need the conference revenue the same way SMU doesn’t. Didn’t SMU waive all conference earnings for a decade to get into the ACC?

Anecdotally I saw that. It’s just hard to sell to a school. The SEC now is pretty compact regionally, even after expansion. Florida and South Carolina are distant. But not Ore/Was distant. Or Rutgers. And Texas/OU/A&M/Arkansas/LSU are grouped very closely. Even the Mississippi schools are closer than CU, Nebraska and ISU in the old Big 12.

Common sense from a Longhorn.

Honestly refreshing.

I don’t care for Mizzou but that’s because they’ve been whipping’ our butts in FB ever since they joined. I do think they look midwestern in thier ugly arse uniforms though!

Nope. Missouri wanted to join the Big 10 and didn't make the cut. They do have big TV markets and Slive/Sankey are both filthy wholes who will do anything for a dollar.

A&M wasn't a perfect fit but those weirdos fit in here about as well as they're gonna fit in anywhere.

I still think there is a world where Mizzou could defect to the B10. The B10 isn’t exactly begging but if they ended up with odd numbers like the SEC faced with the aTm addition, the B10 would accept them and their AAU status. For the same or better revenue the B10 is a far better culture fit and easier path to occasional playoff berths. The B10 is where schools like Indiana can sneak in with an average team and easy schedule.

Good lord. This topic again. For a team that everyone claims they don’t know is part of sec, sure a lot of threads.

Boot LSU. It is a glorified community college that brings the rest of the conference’s academic status down.

U say “nobody would notice if Mizzou left.” Well nobody notices their appendix either ‘til it explodes and ruins Thanksgiving. That’s us. We the appendix of the SEC. Unwanted, unexplained, but ABSOLUTELY gonna ruin your season

Legit LOL’d.

This is great “the appendix of the SEC”

Wrong. We turned down the offer that Nebraska ended up taking. B1G was only offering partial revenue for new members and Mizzou said no. Look how that’s working for Nebraska.

You don’t think A&M would jump at being the only Texas school in the Big 10?

Dude A&M could have an invitation from the b1g next week if the administration had any interest whatsoever.

Unlike most of the schools referenced in this topic, the Aggies are an AAU school which is table stakes for the b1g. No AAU no invite.

Just because the typical Aggie fan despises Sankey doesn't mean there is any chance the Aggies leave the SEC.

Clemson and/or Florida State are much better fits.

You should spend some time on a Clemson message board before forming that opinion. I did when we played them in 2019. Those are some strange mother frickers man. They give Aggie a run for their money in the cult department.

FSU also isn’t as perfect a cultural fit as people imply, although it is trending more SEC as Florida (the state) embraces more and more traditionalism.

Honestly Mizzou is the only truly weird fit.

As someone that's lived around in various regions of the country, nah, Zou and Okie can stay. One of the places I've lived was small town Southern Illinois and lemme tell ya, Southern MO across the river is alright by me, haha. Deep Southern IL at the bottom is Ya'll and sweet tea and got Bald Cypress swamps and all, it ain't like what you think when you hear "Illinois". Southern MO got the good ole Bootheel and all that jazz, c'mon now, dems some good people, haha.

They were able to leave the Big !2 because the Governor was a former Aggie cheerleader. The current Governor graduated from Texas. It was long thought that Texas couldn’t leave the Big 12 without taking Texas Tech with us. Having a Governor who graduated from Texas made it possible for us to leave Texas Tech in the rear view mirror.

Texas to the Big XII: “Hey, let’s start a conference TV network.”

Big XII: “F off”

Texas to A&M: “Hey, let’s start a joint TV network. We’ll call it the Lonestar Network or some ish.”

A&M: “F off”

ESPN to Texas: “Here’s $15MM per year for your own network so that you’ll stay put in the Big XII.”
