Integration AND the forward pass.

One created the need to get the ball to multiple skill players, spread the field and get possession downfield in open space... the evolution of the modern offense filled that need.

Nebraska hasn’t proven they can overcome poor instate recruiting.

You're close. Nebraska's move to the B1G was their downfall. But you can't blame them. Texas was the culprit behind that, though. When they came up with that 'Longhorn Network' and decided they wouldn't share revenues Nebraska, Colorado, Missouri, and A&M left. All were pissed because the Big 12 allowed Texas to have the Longhorn Network and not share revenues.

Nebraska was recruiting well when they were with the Big 12. They had exposure in Texas, Oklahoma, etc where the conference footprint was. Once they went to the B1G they were, more or less, a foreign entity in that part of the country.

And as an aside. The SEC needs to be very careful when Texas finally joins the conference. They are leeches and will only seek to benefit themselves at the cost of other conference members.

You get that from CNN?

Look up the history of teams in the B12 negotiating their own tv deals and by earliest date.. Nebraska was the first and Texas was the 4th.

Texas AD DeLoss Dodds was outvoted three years in a row trying to put together a conference tv deal, while at the same time 3 other programs were trying to work their own deal.

Look back at every conference revenue and media vote and get back to me.. the Nebraska, A&M and Missouri spins are pure fantasy.

You don’t take Michigan seriously, the team that curb stomped Ohio State that took the Dawgs to the limit in the semifinal. Rather you don’t take Michigan seriously, the team that dominated Ohio State the last few seasons. I’ll agree on Penn State, straight farce.

I think programs strong enough like an Alabama, Georgia, LSU can withstand any long term damage unlike Nebraska. A bad hire won’t tank the program, the recruiting grounds are too rich and the brands have too much success over the last decade or two. I’d argue Florida would be in that realm but the Gators haven’t had a legitimately “great” team in fifteen years after some rather lackluster hires.

Put down that crack pipe son, that shite will kill you. Bama is always going to be Bama. They made/have a hell of a run. Post Saban they will still do well. Recruiting and facilities will keep them near the top.

If Auburn moved to the ACC or B10/12 they would wither on the vine quickly.

Tennessee could have moved to the ACC 20 years ago and been ok but the ACC is a dead conference walking today. 20 years ago it would have been a natural fit with GaTech, Miami, UNC, VU, Maryland, and Virginia tech

Maybe one or two down years but Nebraska fell off cause they don't have a solid recruiting ground, they relied on Texas when they were on top. Alabama has a gold mine in its backyard, and Saban ain't stupid he practically has a second home in Texas so he can recruit here.

No. The immediate surrounding population has too much football talent.

Not without the Ncaa coming TWICE and handing down pseudo death penalties for violations that wouldn’t warrant 4 scholarships today.
