i expect Nutt to take it to court and drag OM through the mud. No settlement. I bet ole Mars has a couple of young associates under his wing and is using this as on the job training on how to F someone over. It will give them court experience and when to settle and when not to settle where both parties the attorney and the client benefit. Besides OM is gonna lowball them just like they lowballed the NCAA with their self imposed punishments. Nutt's attorney is expecting this.

Nutt may take a settlement but OM/Freeze would have to recant the statements about him.

They threw him under the bus, ran him over, backed up over him and ran over him again all while holding the Bible in one hand.

The lawsuit is shite, and was only put out because Nutt can't get a job coaching at a power 5 school and his feelings are hurt because his staff was referenced. The NOA came out Jan 2016. Apparently Nutt thinks that with his staff being mentioned in 2016, that kept him from getting a job from 2012-2015. The facts portion of the filing is anything but facts. It's is best guess based on phone records and timing that with tweets or columns put out around the time of the phone calls. When a reporter is told from a source that most of the NOA has to do with previous staff and Tunsil stuff which is why he was suspended. The NOA comes out and 10/13 allegations were dealing with previous staff and Tunsil, that is considered "most". Most of the facts section is trying to interpret how a person was thinking, feeling, or thought process as fact which is impossible to do or even present in court. He won't get paid, it'll be dropped, but it served the purpose he wanted it to

MOTHO is like a Pit Bull, doubt he takes a settlement.

I doubt money is the issue, it's an ego thing.

No. It was available to OM at that time. It became public AFTER signing day that year. In Jan OM put out word that it was "mostly under the previous staff". That messaging was led by Freeze and his multiple phone calls to media members who were willing to parrot what he told them.

That message did impact Nutt's reputation. All he has to do is find someone in a hiring position who expressed those concerns to his agent and he's golden.

OM is going to settle this one. Depositions under oath would not be something Freeze and crew want, I'm sure.

It doesn't matter when or how true or not anything said was. There were disparaging remarks made about Nutt. There was a non disparagement agreement in their contract. They broke that agreement. Breach of contract resulting in the reputation of Nutt being damaged. Whether it resulted or didn't result in him not being hireable doesn't matter either. His reputation was damaged because of the breach of contract. Even if the stuff was true about him. Which it wasn't. There are almost a dozen instances listed with phone records to back it up. Again, Freeze could have been telling the absolute truth about Nutt being to blame. And OM would still have been guilty of breach of contract resulting in his reputation being damaged. There's is no doubt they disparaged him. None. They have to admit that. Then the case is closed.

This case is going all the way to the highest court possible.
All the evidence and witnesses will be called in a year long battle.
At the reading of the verdict the judge is going to clear his throat and ask all the participating parties to rise.

" in the Case of Houston Dale Nutt v the Un iveristy of Mississippi. I have decided that the plaintiff has been damaged by the unwarranted actions of the defendant. Mr. Nutts reputation as a football coach has been irreparably damaged, so much so that he will no longer ever be able to coach again.
Based on Mr. Nutt's acclaimed past, the court has decided that he is due a monetary settlement for damage in the total of........about three-fifty."

OleMiss steadily fed the media to save a recruiting class. Freeze smoothed things over with recruits and pointed fingers at the previous staff and said all would well for the future of OM football. Even that idiot Rick Neuhausel was knighting for Freeze/OM. lol

No one's hiring Nutt, he ran that program into the ground his last 2 yrs and now has a damn Academic Fraud tag on him. But, "if" anyone employed by OM sought to petition the media in an effort to put out a false narrative that disparaged Nutt then they will pay. I wonder if there are any journalists that are pissed that they were used and lied to by OM?

Seven figures? Ole Miss is cute, thinking it'll get off that cheap.

Eight will be where it settles- $10M for a mid-major kinda coach for the back half of his career being shite-canned by Ole Miss' spin job is more than reasonable as a settlement-- but it is likely to end up north of that.

Agree. Nutt has a big problem with Bucky and Ole Miss. Plus, he has a pretty solid case. It is a classic example of what happens when you try to cheat. Eventually, you have to face the consequences.

This is some of the best off-season shite in history.

Nutt is seeking a Power 5 school?

He can't even scrounge up a h.s. interview.

Nutt may be a poor coach and a Grade A skeez. But did Freeze/Bjork petition journalists & media members to paint a false narrative publicly about the actual contents and severity of the NOA in an effort to save the '16 class?

I'd have to say yeah.

So the "loser" that cant even scrounge up a HS interview already got 6 million from Ole Miss to not coach and is now using a few hunderd thousand of that 6MM to retain lawyers that will get him 3 -4 million more out of the same school that already paid him 6MM not to coach. What a "loser"

These allegations took him out of the running for SMU and Baylor.

His reputation has been damaged so bad not even those two would consider him.

Open/shut case. Great ROI in stealing him from Arkansas, OM.
