Not hating, but Auburn is not top tier.

Auburn is boring, but it is also a nice campus in a very quaint setting that represents a lot of the historical southern college town environment.

Sounds hating...what is your criteria? Does nice not mean nice?

BTW, I see Bham newscasts, which loves to report all things Tuscaloosa, and it is not a nice place in my opinion. Would argue bottom tier.

Nice. I need to make it up there sometime.

When Danny Kannel and Reece Davis were taking their tour to college campuses a few weeks ago, they were giving clues to which city they were visiting next. Danny Kannel's clue about Auburn was that it had the nicest scenery of any town they had visited so far. This is particularly interesting because they had just come from Tuscaloser

Our Wal Marts are probably nicer than your trailer since we are so close to HQ they stay in perfect shape.

I didn't mention Tuscaloosa. Auburn is a good little college town.

Fayetteville has two Wal Marts. How many does Baton Rouge have? I'll hang up and listen.

Fayetteville is very nice. Really liked it there but out of the way for most schools as far as visiting. Athens really is fun, but not "nice" like Fayetteville. Starksville is where it's at though...

One of the best places I've ever lived in and there is some decent fishing not only close by, but even in the city limits.

When I was in school at Fayetteville, driving from South Arkansas up I-40, ~50+ miles out, I had to either take Hwy. 71 from Alma or the old road up Hwy. 23 and 16 from Ozark. And parts of I-40 were still under construction. Both roads, especially the older road, were like a roller coaster ride but the scenery on both routes was absolutely stunning. I can remember stopping many times at overlooks along the way just to let it overwhelm my senses.

Based upon these comments, I need to put Fayetteville on my list. I've been to a lot of the college towns that you see on most lists:

Athens GA
Charlottesville VA
Chapel Hill NC
Austin TX
Athens GA
Oxford MS
Palo Alto CAL
Madison WS

Have to say I like them all for the different reasons and for the different things they have to offer. I don't consider Auburn in this league. It's certainly nice, but not a lot to offer in restaurants, bars and other establishments.
