Even going back to his time at BGSU when he was first a QB coach, he had some studs. I would dominate NCAA on xbox with his QBs there. Josh Harris and he recruited Omar Jacobs.

The only sorry people are people such as yourself and the rest of Moo State's backward fan base who spew the twisted logic that Auburn paid Cam but Leo Lewis went to your garbage program for free.
I can't imagine how dumb a person must be to actually believe that. I guess you have to be so dumb that a glorified junior college like Moo State is your best academic option

FLORIDA: (Who should know him best would not interview him).. Word is that Mullen's prickly personality rubbed Foley and others in the administration the wrong way when he was Urban Meyer's offensive coordinator at UF.
Perhaps Foley gave a hint as to why Mullen wasn't a candidate on the day he met the media following Muschamp's dismissal. Foley said then he was looking for somebody who worked well with other coaches and administrators in UF's athletic department.
MSU: How about how he took Simmons.... When asked about whether he expected the public backlash to the one-game suspension, Mullen passed off the blame to the University and opted instead to talk about how he didn’t focus on the length of the suspension; rather, the 44-year old said he was thrilled to have Simmons become “part of our family.”
OLE MISS: Is there any doubt he is partially behind this?
AUBURN: He was feeding fake news to the media (some actual news also), him and his wife. It was MSU who offered money.
MSU: MSU 2013 Major Infraction and Probation for This case involved the provision of recruiting inducements, including cash, clothing and vehicle discounts, by a representative of the institution's athletics interests. (Isn't this what Lewis is accusing Ole Miss of).
Finally, it is my understanding from Ole Miss folks that Dan has a secret life in Michigan. This was rumored long before the current case.

Is Dan Mullen a QB whisperer?

I'll give you 2 chances. You only have to produce 1 of the 2.
Show where I have ever said that :
A. Auburn paid Cam Newton
B. MSU never paid Leo Lewis
Provide the quotes or admit that you're a window -licking moron and STFU.

Fitzgerald is a great runner, but he's below par as passer. So I'll say no.
Fitz was a running QB in a 'run first' system the only year he played QB in high school.
He is only a JR. Just like Relf and Dak, his passing will improve.
Meanwhile, Dan has signed 4-star 'true' dual threat QB Keytaon Thompson from LA; has '18 4-star DT QB Jalen Mayden from Tx and '19 4-star DT QB Jalon Jones from MD committed.
Historically, MSU has ALWAYS had problems recruiting the QB position. Not so much post Dak.

I may be in the minority, but I sure as heck would take him as a QB coach. Doesn't mean I have to like him. But you can go back to Bowling Green I think it was and see that he has developed a QB everywhere he has been. One thing I like about him is that he keeps it simple. Regarding checkdowns. And he changes the playbook to fit the QB, not making the QB change to his scheme. I may not like him, but respect that aspect.

If you had to make a coaching staff out of SEC head coaches, Mullen would be the QB coach on most people's lists.

Pretty good list of qbs that Urban Meyer put into the league.
Dan got a good product in Dak though.

Yea I may not like him as a person, and that is from being an Ole Miss fan. But you do have to respect his QB knowledge. Like I said, alot of coaches try to make a QB learn their system, when he learns to adjust his system to fit the QB.

Speaking of Relf... I saw him about 2-3 months ago. He's close to 300lbs now.
Isn't that the way things usually go?

Yes Mullen is clearly one of the best QB coaches in CFB.
Underrated coach. Winning at Miss State is nearly impossible and he has made bowls the norm. Quite remarkable.

He must have whispered in the ear of the defense at the spring game, because they seemed to know exactly where Fitzgerald was throwing the ball.

Because he did not do so. Relf led the 2010 team to the Gator Bowl where we demolished Michigan 52-14. Still feels good to eyeball that score. Relf was a very raw QB who developed nicely under Mullen. Won some big games from 09-11 including 3-0 against OM, beating UF in the Swamp, a win against UGA in 2010 etc. I do believe if he had been our QB from the start in 2009, we would have beaten LSU and Houston that year. Unfortunately, he really did not take the starting reins until late in the season. Finished up the 2011 season with a Music City Bowl win against Wake Forest.

If Mullen would have used the Relf style game plan every egg bowl even with Dak, he'd never have lost one. OM and Freeze would never have stopped it. Didn't last year with Fitz. To this day if Relf walks in a room full of people, all the OM fans run away terrified.

Yes. I'm disappointed we didn't make a push for him after Muschamp got fired. Supposedly some petty beef between him and Foley.

Add Tom Brady to Mullen's QB List
By now we know the names: Smith, Tebow, Newton, Prescott, Fitzgerald. Dan Mullen’s reputation as a quarterback whisperer has grown by leaps and bounds over the last decade, dating back to his time with Urban Meyer at Florida, Utah and Bowling Green.
Meyer and Mullen are credited with being some of the forefathers of the modern spread option that is used around the country today in all levels of football, but one tie you may not be aware of is how big an impact Mullen has had with the New England Patriots and Tom Brady.
That’s right, that Tom Brady. TB12 and Bill Belichick.
