Horse shite. Our savior was Burrow

So you mean to tell me if your two previous coaches were O and Miles, you wouldn’t at least be somewhat encouraged by the fact that you have a head coach that’s truly knows what they are doing? But, that also is why all these posts on here about him makes sense, they are nervous. They know he is much better than those two imbeciles.

He refuses to see any sense on Kelly at LSU.

If it was 1999, he'd be laughing his arse off at LSU giving a million bucks to a no-name coach from MSU.

He managed to salvage the 2022 class into a #6 rated class with transfers. He's got a top 5 class now. If he can stay around top 5 at LSU, he'll have way more talent than he ever had at ND.

This idea that he only had success against a weak schedule is a bunch of bullshite.

It just goes to show you how dumb the posters are on here. Looking up ND’s SOS the last 10 years is readily accessible to anyone with half a brain cell. The fear is real on this board

It sure does. Especially the LSU fans that like to brag about how many games he won. They don't like to discuss how they were mainly against unranked opponents. And how he has a losing record vs ranked opponents.

Yes, that "tough schedule" illustrates quite a bit.

You mean how dare a fanbase be excited about a HC that can hold a conversation??

Oh, I'm not referencing posts about LSU fans being excited about him - that's a good thing.

I'm referencing those posts about Alabama fans being scared, the entire West being on notice, etc.

He’s a weird dork, so the idea he’s going to recruit LSU like Jimbo, Saban, Dabo, Kirby, or any other person that wouldn’t say the word “faaaambily” while he’s in Baton Rouge is a definite negative for him. Now you can say, “that’s what assistants are for”, but you know that when you’re recruiting against Saban and Jimbo that no assistant coach is going to make the difference.

And on top of that, Kelly is also the weird insecure dork that would create burner accounts on twitter to defend himself and throw assistant coaches under the bus.

What’s the net result of this? Well. I expect him to recruit squarely behind Jimbo, Saban and Kirby and be kind of at the OU/Auburn level of recruiting. With good coaching, this is enough talent to be competitive and with great coaching this is enough talent to even win big. But Kelly doesn’t seem to be some sort of world beater coach. He tends to fall really flat in the big games. O well. It will be fun. But if I had to put money on it, no way he wins a natty. Just too many better things out there.

Kelly seems to be taking Jimbo to the woodshed in recruiting currently.

LSU had the #7 class on average over that time. There's a pretty stark difference between 7 and 13, especially year to year.

The talent thing has always been his "crutch", per se.

Not saying I think he uses it as a crutch. It's just the narrative around him.

The most surprising thing in all of this is how well ND is recruiting since he left. It makes you wonder if it's a BK recruiting thing more than a ND thing. BUT, he is recruiting well at LSU. So it's all a mystery for now.

For the record, I think he'll go down as a great hire.

IDK. I mean the dude made one CFP and one NC game. Hard to argue with that. On the other hand he wasnt playing a SEC schedule at ND

Maybe that’s why he brought Cincy’s OC with him?

But his talent level at Notre Dame was never remotely close to SEC level.
for the classes between 2010 and 2022 that kelly had a part of, ND averaged 11.8 in recruiting. For reference over that same period LSU was 7, Florida was 10.2, Auburn was 10.3, Georgia was 5.6, A&M was 12.1, Alabama was 1.78, and Tennessee was 14.8. Its not true that ND had vastly lower talent levels, there are only 5 SEC schools that averaged higher over Kelly's tenure at ND

You give Brian Kelly LSU level talent, and he might actually turn out to be pretty dominant. He might be the 2nd best coach in the West.

The last 2 HCs were far more sloppy than Kelly and both won NCs

Players and media have talked about how Kelly is big on accountability. That is something LSU hasn't had in a decade.

Time will tell. There’s a lot of good coaches in the conference with both divisions. I’m excited we have someone that seems to be able to put a sentence together, not eat grass, or punch himself in the face. So of course hopes are high. Saban is the best and will be for a long time. I just hope BK can make LSU competitive and show some consistency however be able to adapt. The last two guys along with the last AD were so damn stubborn and heard headed it was hard to stomach.

I’m ready for the season to start though boys and girls!!! Good luck to everyone this year! May the SEC dominate another college football season!

~5 spots in recruiting, especially over that time period, is nothing to sniff at.

That’s basically the difference between LSU and Bama.

Hopefully Kelly can do more with the extra talent he inherits and will hopefully continue to land.
