Gayturds are a thing of the past never to be remembered again due to Mike White.

arkie has underperformed as a basketball school based on those stats.

Natty-goal #1

Final Four/Regular Season Championship-Next level

Elite 8/Conference Tourney-a level down

Sweet 16-bottom rung of accomplishments

I do love that basketball offers opportunity for success for several teams vs what football has become.

How can a little ole school from a little ole poor state win this much and be considered an underachiever?

I think we’ve done a good job competing given the circumstances.

GreatPumpkin is the smartest TN fan on this board!

Only thing that matters at all is NCAA tournament success.

Even with a long stretch of bad coaches, Arkansas is still behind ONLY Kentucky in the SEC in Final Four appearances.

And 3rd in SEC with National Titles.

Only KY (8) and Florida(2) have more National Titles in the SEC.

Point all you want to bad performances since 2000.

Arkansas has the right coach now, an Elite Eight last year, who knows how far this year, and #2 recruiting class for next year.

Hog basketball is BACK and there is nothing any of you can do about it.

No, their history isn’t overrated.. but at the same time just that, history. They will never be what they once were in the SWC in the SEC.

Only SEC fans care about conference titles in basketball.

Btw, that list shows 3 SEC regular season titles. Arkansas joined the SEC in basketball in 1991.

I mean the 90’s run was in the SEC. But you’re probably right. If we keep stringing top 5 recruiting classes together though you never know.

Tigerprowl24...

Arkansas won a National Championship AFTER joining the SEC.

2 Final Fours AFTER joining SEC.

How many Final Fours and National Titles does Auburn have again?

Was just thinking about this. Their history is overrated asf. They act like they are Kentucky jr or something in BB and it's no where close to being true.

No.

To answer your question:

Which SEC schools would trade “historical success” of their program with Arkansas?

All of them not named Kentucky and Florida.

Look, I love to poke fun at the pigs but basketball success is not an area that they are vulnerable. They are a very good program.

And …..Arkansas has had sustained success over Florida such as more Final Fours and has accomplished this over several eras from the 40’s 70’s 90’s. Better win% by far more overall wins by far… …..yes the back to back nattys we’re nice for Fl. ….Hogs came close in 95 for the repeat. We got to the Championship game.

6 Final Fours
94 National Champs
95 Runner Up
78 3rd

Top 15 in every other metric such as NCAA appearances and All Time Win %.

2nd all time win percentage against top 5 teams at home. 60% (12-8)

Overall… Arkansas has a similar history to Syracuse or Michigan but better than Georgetown.

I blame FL's Donovan for recommending Pelphrey , who's hiring was bungled by Broyles and the PTB because of Altman. He almost recruited himself another year but Anderson's then success in the NCAA tournament was just too tempting to Hog fans to thing all he needed was our home court again. He did get us back to a respectable mediocre again, but Muss knew that there was a sleeping monster that was hungry and it's a destination job again. It's been a painful ride for someone who saw half of the games of the 94 season in person and watched it wither for 2 decades.

I appreciate your honesty, refreshing. Thanks.

And let me say I’m not surprised Pearl is winning there, I knew he would after watching him at 10rc. He’s very good, heck I wanted him over Anderson, but he wasn’t kosher at that time,if you know what I mean. Looking forward to more exciting games between these two teams, maybe give Kentucky a run for their money for a while….

The arse beatings we dished out in that 93/94 season were epic.. that season alone justifies our basketball history. Never forget how bad the assault was against Missouri that year. Missouri was 31-3 and eventual #1 seed in the NCAA tourney.... we beat the shite out of them by 52.

Arkansas destroys Missouri.
