They've only won one SEC regular season championship in 1994 (28 years ago) and one SEC tournament championship 2000 (22 years ago). I know they have a national and that early 90s run was impressive. But they haven't won anything of significance In what is now over 2 decades.

Only if these forgettable titles are important to you.

I’d take our overall history over either of those titles.

ok put up utenns or lsu and lets look at them.

kentucky historically is the only leader and Florida in more recent years can exceed Arkansas.

Show us any other SEC team whose history exceeds or compares

I guess it depends on how much importance you place on conference titles. I would say that most people would argue that final fours and national championships trump anything regarding conference stuff. I think we have the second most conference championship game appearances since we entered the conference. We're second or third, a stat I had no idea about and probably no one else, either, which should hint at the importance. Florida moved squarely into second place history wise during Donavon's run. They were a perennial tournament team that was a threat in March just about every year. Had Richardson won in 95, it'd be a toss up between them and us for second place behind Kentucky.

I think the only thing that really means a damn in basketball is tournament performance.

OP conveniently cut off all of their NCAA tournamnet success, which is what matters in college basketball. I couldn't tell you who even won the Big 10 last year.

Pre 2000 they had a very impressive record and resume

Post 2000 they have been bad with the exception of 1 season. A middle of the pack SEC team for 2+ decades.

1 sweet Sixteen appearance or better since 1997 is hilariously bad

I can't tell if that's a shot at Arkansas or a nod to how good we should expect to be.

Your aren't wrong though, it is hilariously bad when we were a top 25 program for 25 years prior to that. No one else in the conference really stepped up consistently. Tennessee had a brief run with Pearl, then he got in hot water and y'all hired a televangelist.

The lure Musselman had to this job was that it has been bad and it shouldn't be that way, that we should be top 2 or 3 in the conference yearly. I'm excited about the future if he is here long term.

We’ve made 9 ncaa tourney trips in that stretch, but it was below what we expect no doubt.

How about you…

Arkansas basketball has been pretty damn good more often than not since the 70’s.

Solid solid program.

From 1988 to 1995ish that program was on fire. So good

They were in the SEC in 1992. Won the regular season in their first year.

Solid program. Not as great as Hog fans make it out to be,but much, much better than SEC fans acknowledge .

Then from 1996 to 2021 they had an epic sweet 16-less skid until redeemed by a COVID tourney against church league teams.

The dance. I don’t much care for the conference tournament. Seems a little pointless to gas your players before the biggest part of the season
