- Ended streak
- Heisman winner
- SEC champion

But no national championship. Does bring exposure and some top recruits for sure though. So what say you tigahs?

Sure it's successful but it would still be bitter not to take home the natty when you are the best team in the country.

Any school that says LSU's 2019 season isn't a success if they lose a title is fricking stupid. By that logic there is only 1 team in the entire country every year that is succesful and 120+ others that are bums.

Sure, you want a natty and that's the goal, but what LSU has done this year across the board is phenomenal and absoluitely something to be proud of.

Of course I want to win it all, but I definitely would consider it a successful season.

Major success. I grew up a Southern Cal fan and always have loved Ed O. The line he put together at SC with guys like Sean Cody, Mike Patterson, Kenechi Udeze, Frostee Rucker, and Manuel Wright is all-world. Sometimes I wonder what would have happened if he had one more year at OM since Nutt ended up being moderately successful with his recruits, but I don’t think he was ready for HC then. Nothing but respect for O and what he’s done for LSU. I still feel for him that he didn’t get the HC role at SC, but that is neither here nor there.

I don't think that any team that misses out on the natty this year can claim they were the best team in the country. That title will (more than likely, barring OU winning it) belong to an undefeated team that beat said team head to head

In what universe is a College Football Playoff berth a failure?

That's like saying a Final Four appearance is a failure.

Bama fans still melting.
If only A&M had beat them too, this board would have disintegrated

I'll speak for 2011 LSU and tell you that 13-1 is not as great as you might think.

Yeah cause even if we slip up and lose one of the next 2 games, we are still the best team in the country

Would be a huge choke job, just like it was when UGA lost to Bama or Bama lost to Clemson

Remember what you said, my agricultural friend, when speaking about one of your past Daddies in OU. We’re not perfect, but certainly good every year.

Not a failure for the team, but when your conference is the only one that has yet to have more than one school make the playoff or win a game 6 seasons into the playoffs, it is a failure of your CONFERENCE.

It would be a success. Losing this year wouldn’t be the same as 2011 for obvious reasons.

Eh. Weird things can happen in one game. It's very possible the best team does not end up winning in such a format.
