Perkins would be great as a spot player not as the center focal point that’s been tried at failed he was best used his freshman year but right now is the defenses. Everybody knows their assignment and there is no confusion.

Yup, Weeks is a better linebacker.
Perkins is a better athlete.
Why not teach Perkins how to play linebacker? That's been my biggest gripe. The plays will come, stop trying to make him make a play.
Weeks is flat out dominating right now.

Had Perkins playing out of position, and Weeks wasn't on the field for something like 30 snaps against USC. Weeks is better suited for LB and once he started getting the snaps, things changed.

Come on man… we lined him up literally everywhere you can imagine except DT & DB.
Edge rusher, star, nickel, MLB… At some point it’s on the player.
They just magically figured out how to scheme at halftime of the UCLA game huh?
The last two years being the only realistic measuring stick — he is a fantastic athlete but a situational football player / specialist at this level.

He wasn’t underutilized
If anything it was the opposite.
He should have just been a pass rush specialist or used to spy the QB.
He was not big or strong enough to play every down inside.

Perkins, like dozens of Louisiana State players over the years, was vastly overrated by Louisiana State fans like OP.
