Your first link is under the influence of the dude of west virginia
Your second link is under the influence of shaggy bevo
While I would be on board with UNC in the SEC you could not have picked 2 worse sources for SEC news.

Y'all need to pipe down about Missouri and the south.
This is old school, which means it's legit.
In your picture it looks like the SEC should be adding Indian Territory.

You must not spend much time in that part of the country
Should be :
Pod 2 (Shine Runners): Kentucky, North Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia

I have no clue what they should be named.
I just know that the words "North" and "West" are words you don't use when naming divisions in the SEC. I grouped them based on vicinity, giving my best guess with all but the Gulf/Osark one.
As for the 2 teams from each pod argument, that only works with a 9-game conference schedule.
My method allows an 8-game schedule and keeps permanent cross-division rivalries as applicable.
Your schedule at that point is strong or weak based on YOUR finish.

This would give Alabama a schedule of: Auburn Florida Georgia LSU South Carolina Tennessee Vanderbilt (1 other school in an 8-game conference schedule)
LSU fans would still bitch and complain

Meh, that wasn't my intention but it applies to them very much so. Miami fan support is just a testament of how much the state of Florida sucks when it comes to supporting teams. Its all about coming late, not really paying attention to the game (some don't even know whats going on) and then leaving at the half to go eat congris and going clubbing in all white clothes.
Seriously? Kyle Field sucks compared to the Swamp. Went to a game vs OU and sat in the stands 1st half and skybox the 2nd half. Neither come close to the Swamp in structure or experience.

I'm not trying to troll State fans, but what do they bring to the table? Besides being a charter member.
I think the SEC should add UNC, Duke, and VT and drop Ms St to get to the magic number of 16.
Now I know this will never happen since they are an original member, but they bring nothing to the table. No academics, no athletics, and no TV sets(which is obviously most important these days). At least Mizzou has academics, TV sets, and potential for athletics.
UNC doesn't want to leave Duke stranded. Those two would boost our academic and basketball prestige, and will add the NC markets. VT would add the Virginia/DC markets, and get a decent football school.
So bye bye Ms St. Flame away

Yes. Hence why we are about to blow about a half billion $ on it.

Here are pod divisions with one permentant cross-pod rival that I think make some sense, and are about as even as you can make them while maintaining some form of geographical sense.
The 1st is with UNC & VT added:
South Pod – Cross Pod Team
Alabama - Tennessee
Auburn - Georgia
Ole Miss - LSU
Mississippi State - Vanderbilt
West Pod – Cross Pod Team
Arkansas - Florida
LSU - Ole Miss
Missouri - Kentucky
Texas A&M - Virginia Tech
East Pod – Cross Pod Team
Florida - Arkansas
Georgia - Auburn
Vanderbilt - Mississippi State
South Carolina – North Carolina
Appalachian Pod – Cross Pod Team
Kentucky - Missouri
Tennessee - Alabama
Virginia Tech - Texas A&M
North Carolina – South Carolina
The Eastern pod is a little tougher than the others, and the Appalachian pod is a little easier. But they are about as even as you can get them without just throwing geography out the window. And the permentant cross pod game make some sense with the exception of UF/Arky, but I couldn't figure out another way to give them better cross pod games without causing worse ones for more teams. Plus when pod A is matched up with Pod B in a given year, if teams in those pods have teams that are also their cross pod teams, then you have to have an equal number in the other matched up pod division so that those teams can play those teams in place of their normal cross pod teams.
Dividing up the SEC into pods with the addition of UNC & Duke is a lot harder to keep even, and still make geographic sense. You could just swap Duke for VT in the Appalachian pod, but it makes that pod a lot easier. Here is what I put together for that situation:
South Pod – Cross Pod Teams
Alabama - Tennessee
Auburn - Georgia
Ole Miss - LSU
Mississippi State - Texas A&M
West Pod – Cross Pod Teams
Arkansas - Florida
LSU - Ole Miss,
Missouri - Kentucky
Texas A&M - Mississippi State
East Pod – Cross Pod Teams
Florida - Arkansas
Georgia - Auburn
Vanderbilt - Duke
South Carolina - North Carolina
Appalachian Pod – Cross Pod Teams
Kentucky - Missouri
Tennessee - Alabama
Duke - Vanderbilt
North Carolina - South Carolina
Again it makes the Appalachian pod extremely easy, but it is just really hard dividing it up with Duke being added.

That's the school I want in the SEC the least. They are one of the nations most overrated football team, and hell most of their fans don't even know they play other sports, except basketball, and that's only because VT plays their favorite in basketball(most are Duke and UNC fans)

I agree... I don't get the hype over VT. I'd almost rather have Virginia with UNC and let that program grow as a member of the SEC.
