I get if a school retires a number and ask the player if it is okay. But I think a few numbers should not be touched at most schools. Like at UF(Football)

Eh....
At the end of the day, it's just a number. And people can be reminded of them everytime someone else puts on that number. Plus if we retired numbers, we would start seeing more and more double numbers. It's bad enough having a guy on defense and a guy on offense with the same number.

We retired their jersey's...correct? Whats wrong at all with retiring a few numbers? Showcase the peoplr who fid a ton for the program.

No. We don't retire jerseys at Florida. Never have, never will.
Edit: Spurrier's WAS retired. Then he un-retired it. Hasn't happened since, as we are following that precedent.

Brantley did as well as Spurrier..which I do not get honestly..Smith, Tebow, Taylor Youngblood, Spikes, Wilber, Danny, etc
But at least they have flags with their names around the stadium in the Ring of Honor. I thought they had a few numbers retired but I guess not.

Tebow was a hard guy to root against. Even for opposing fans. Excellent young man, excellent Christian. Role model for younger kids

He was only disliked because of the Media. I think most SEC fans are christians; so were torn. The media was constantly talking about him.

We have a hall of fame and a ring of honor for that. Retiring numbers is dumb. I am so glad coach Spurrier un-retired his number.
