We have retired 3 jerseys at UF, Spurrier's #11 in 1967, Scott Brantley's #55 in 1979, and Neal Walk's #41 in basketball in 1997. Spurrier and Brantley jerseys have been un-retired, and widely used. Walk's jersey remains retired and although not retired until 1997, it has never been used since he graduated in 1969.

Actually we retired a few, then some of the players said unretire it. So it was no longer retired.

Exactly. If he cares that much about the number, make an offer. Like he took offers to come to LSU. Maybe they could negotiate a deal for him to take it out of circulation, like paying the club to take a stripper off the floor.
