For those who didn't see - The Cavaliers had a chance to take the lead with 4.7 seconds left against Golden State in Oakland. George Hill made the first free throw to tie the game 107-107. He missed the second free throw and JR Smith grabbed the rebound with a potentially easy put-back layup. However, Smith took off with the ball and ran around towards half court with a flabbergasted LeBron James pointing him back to the goal. After the play, Smith was shown saying, "I thought we were up!" The Cavs ended up losing in overtime.

Here's the video.

What's the most boneheaded moment your team has experienced?

Sadly not the first one I thought of, though the same QB was involved.

Ryan Smith knocking his own teammate off of tackling the WR on what should have been a 5 yard pass, turning it into a 50 yard pass that ended up giving FSU the go ahead touchdown in the NC.

Yea I can't really pick a bonehead play i remember in my day.

Was gonna say Jared Cook dropping the wide open TD against Auburn when they came in as #2, think that was Spurriers second year?

But that wasn't bone head, he just dropped it.

Xavier Carter kneeling a kickoff on the 1yd line vs UGA in '04 is definitely up there.

That play's been mentioned in fun fact books.

Carracci throwing it over the catchers head thinking bases were loaded instead of taking the forced third out at first. Two runs scored to tie it up.

Didn’t matter though as we won it in extra innings and ended up winning the conference championship anyways. Still about as bonehead of a play as I can remember.
