After he and Kelly split, it all went downhill from there. She was always by his side and he would say she was his Rock. Hell, there was even an emotional game day segment where she almost died and Ed was there by her side, helping her fight it until she was saved.

There's an old saying (Henry Ford maybe?) "Fortune doesn't change men, it unmasks them."

Orgeron isn't anywhere close to the first person to prove it true and he won't be anywhere close to the last one.

It’s a lot more than that.. he was always character flawed.

When he was coaching at Dolphins, the police in Miami supposedly gave him a choice… leave town or be arrested. This was for harassing women, head butting one, multiple violations of restraining orders, and several assault charges for fights he started in bars, one of which hospitalized a bar tender.

It would be interesting to see the report on him that caused USCw to not only not consider him for HC, but to actually get rid of his azz.

His issues were there at LSU too, way before his divorce. He is bad guy period, and a great many people knew it in this State… which is why his hiring was so opposed down here. Alleva is responsible… and if the reason I suspect he settled on 0 were known, it would cause disbelief and the fury.

Good fricking riddance.

He never has been a good HC. He hit lightning in a bottle with Brady/Burrow.

He was on a short lease before the natty. The natty allowed the real O to come out. It was not good.

I won't say that I know a cat like Coach O. I do not.

I will say this - he seems like a man with insatiable appetites. And that's usually how folks achieve. He certainly has - at a high level.

That's not easy to live with. Any more than being Mrs. Beethoven, or Mrs. Bach, or Mr. Ayn Rand. And any woman that does has to have her issues too - because it takes crazy to marry crazy.

With smart comes crazy. How much do you want ?

Ed Orgeron was exactly like this at Ole Miss. He’s never changed.

See his Ole Miss days. He didn't make his teams better. He got lucky with Burrow.

1. O never coached for the Dolphins

2. "Multiple violations of restraining orders and several assault charges" is an exaggeration of the facts.

We already know what happened there, it's been reported by both sides many times.

Also, O left USC, they didn't "get rid of him."

This story is crazy enough, no need to exaggerate or make stuff up.

Success and fame aren’t always easy to deal with. Huge ego boost and adoration. Many examples in Hollywood for example.

This right here. He was a cautionary tale leading up to 2019 with a ridiculous set of fails at most stops up until then.

We all had to guess whether he somehow was misunderstood all along or maybe he took a huge leap forward despite him still sounding like the same unstable, corn pone idiot.

I remember LSU fans telling me Steve Kragthorpe was the real driver of LSU's offensive success and Brady was just an analyst and Aranda was replaceable and all would be fine.

Two years later, we now know it was same old Ed O we saw flailing around at Ole Miss and elsewhere.
