He has been an incredible recruiter and position coach in his time in Athens. But without Muschamp beside him to help with the defensive playcalling, he has been really bad this year as a DC. Like… haven’t been this bad defensively since Todd Grantham was here under Richt.

It is a little selfish that some of these schools will have 3+ HCs next year while other HCs are going to have to figure out how to manage 3+ schools on their own.

Georgia is ranked #21 in total defense. Can't be that bad?
I think that Georgia lost so much defensive talent after the '23 season, they are still kind of rebuilding.

Fantastic LB coach and developer, was supposed to be the next big thing after all the time he has spent with Kirby, Lanning, and Muschamp. But the last two seasons have just been abject failures from aDC perspective. Still recruits well and the LBs are still pretty good but the scheme has been just awful and the development of our young defense this year seems almost non existent.

If we were going to hire a coordinator it wouldn’t be on the defensive side. Learn to troll better. Oh and no more Mutts for coaches at UF. It’s a new rule.

I think some folks here are overstating his impact on it all. Don’t get me wrong, the UGA defensive performance has consistently declined. UGA lost a lot of experienced talent, especially on the DL, to both the NFL draft and the portal over the past few years.
That stated, the thought of potentially replacing him with someone better is intriguing to me.

Well, he doesn't have to be the DC so this might work out. Recruiting is all that matters IF the coach can build a good staff
