He certainly was in the promo he filmed while you guys were here talking about him going to USC.

The money people pooled together a large pile of cash, for NIL, with strings attached, of course.
I'm not sure how to feel.

Pretty good with 3+mil available to rebuild the roster, allegedly.

Then halfway through the year he seemed unhappy.
So, basically the week Petrino moved back to town and had sex with Mrs. Musselman?

He burnt every single bridge he had here behind the scenes. Athletic department, boosters, assistants, and high school coaches. I appreciate what he did for the program, but his little man syndrome/gigantic ego was not sustainable. His NIL funds were gone because he pissed all the money people off.
Is this fact, rumor or speculation? I’d like to know from a reliable source. Post link please.

How so? Elevating the program to where it hadn’t been in two decades? He’s literally the second most accomplished coach in the history of the program and that’s in only 5 years and one of them being a Covid year.

Turn it going to find a link.
He is/was like petrino, detail oriented, OCD, expected perfection, obsessed with the work and expected his staff to be.
He wasn't interested in being buddies with the boosters.

Hard not to feel for Muss. I get he met them halfway but damn that's a quick rug pull.
Although I guess we wouldn't have been so proactive if the Little Rock guys weren't so sure they had Beard on lock.

Whoa! (Seriously)
Yes, there were rumors after his first Elite 8 that he was rubbing people the wrong way, and that he may not be here long
They put up with it for a couple years because of his results, but I think they were done with him at the end of last year. We wiffed on several portal guys because they weren't coughing up the money.
We could have had Grant Nelson and others, but he had burnt too many bridges to get money out of anyone.

This is how the people that make things happen felt, there's no link to it.
There's a couple stories out there already, his wife didn't do him any favors either. I think now that he's gone some of it will start coming out.

Eddie Sutton "rubbed people the wrong way."
Lou Holtz "rubbed people the wrong way."
Ken Hatfield "rubbed people the wrong way."
Nolan Richardson "rubbed people the wrong way."
Houston Nutt and Bobby Petrino and Eric Musselman "rubbed people the wrong way."
We have vocal crybaby fans who think they know more baseball than Norm Debriyn and Dave Van Horn
Maybe it's time Arkansas fans (and more importantly, boosters and BOT) begin to realize they're the problem.

Stop.
Get help.
Someone out there cares about your well being and health.
Not here, but somewhere.

Don't disagree with this at all, but in the age of NIL the money folks are going to have much more control. This kind of sucks for us because they rarely all agree, but it appears they're all in agreement on this situation for once. Maybe some good can come of this.

Eddie Sutton is ahead of Muss when it comes to accomplishments.

He may have just wanted to leave Arkansas. He seemed like he would.

His personality and general aesthetic were pretty awful. Shouldn't matter that much but it comes up when you have a year like he had this year.
