I’m 100% convinced something happened behind the scenes with Coach Musselman.

Maybe it could be closer to home or USC is a better NIL fit, but dude was all in. He was always happy and smiling and cutting promos. He would dress up in football gear and cut Twitter videos trying to convince them to let him play QB. His talent was top notch on paper every single year. His wife did a shite ton for the state. He was on cloud 9 when they beat Duke this year and the atmosphere was electric. Then halfway through the year he seemed unhappy. Completely gave up on coaching and recruiting. No improvement from the team like you saw from all of his other teams. I appreciate what he did and elevating the program to where it had not been in two decades. But wtf bro. I wish I was privy to whatever hit the fan behind the scenes.
I knew he was going to USC several days ago because a co-worker coached a player in high school who now plays in the PAC-12 and Muss is trying to poach him to USC. It’s pretty surreal now that it happened. It feels like an ugly divorce type situation.

Yeah. Just don’t get why. We are a top 25 job and just as good as anywhere else with exception of a few programs.

Meh, it’s just a coaching change. Not that big of a deal or surprise.
We haven’t heard much of anything from him since the end of the season which is out of character. No recruiting talk or building for next year talk, nothing.
Not hard to figure out something was amiss.

I agree something happened. But again, he tweeted out a positive farewell to Arkansas. Maybe it was a booster or two that he got into it with, they pulled their NIL from him?

Muss looked like he was blinking back tears in his intro video to USC and his family looked like their dog had just died. Didn't look like a guy that was trying to get out at all costs. It's definitely weird.

He burnt every single bridge he had here behind the scenes. Athletic department, boosters, assistants, and high school coaches.
I appreciate what he did for the program, but his little man syndrome/gigantic ego was not sustainable. His NIL funds were gone because he pissed all the money people off.
The good news is Beard is about to make it rain for anyone he wants. The money folks are fully behind Beard.
