Bruce Pearl stole Calipari's soul in the 2019 elite 8 game - John got some of it back beating Bill Self and Pitino last season only to collapse again with a 69-56 lead with 5 to play against Texas Tech in the Sweet 16 -
Calipari under performed with the talent he had last season to get that 10 seed - he did manage to beat a double digit seed in Rd 64 this year for the first time in his most recent 3 tries -
meanwhile Kentucky is just spinning its wheels until Pope is either replaced or staffed with someone beyond Mark Fox - maybe a GM too -

Cal had a legit final 4 team/roster at UK every year. He just didnt get it done his last 8 years. It will be the sa.e at Arkansas. He'll ha e lottery picks and teams that are top 4 seeds. But he wont make a final 4 at Arkansas either

He did great last season when you consider when he was hired and the team he put together.
This year has been a miss for sure, but injuries and no JQ didn't help.

Well we did win one tournament game in five years. But that isn’t fair because we didn’t make the tournament in 2021. Went 9-16.

I’m not ragging on Kentucky fans for Cal being gone. I’m shitting on them because they haven’t been relevant in five years. Everyone else is making a run - Kentucky is swearing it was all Cal’s fault while watching Cal win elsewhere.
Pope is a dud and NIL has made Kentucky just like everyone else. But hey, Santa Clara looks like a win!

I’m speaking facts. Kentucky basketball has one title in 20 years, closing in on 30 years. Alabama football and LSU baseball - multiple titles in ten years. Kentucky is falling behind when it comes to the standards of the big 3 sports.
