Again, Pope may not be the answer. But y’all DESPERATELY want us to beg for a guy back who had an atrocious 5 year stretch before he left. With a lifetime contract buyout that we were spared by him leaving for another school.

No, he’s not wanted back. And as a program where 5 different coaches have won NCs, we’ll be alright. If nothing else Cal leaving made it easier for us to move on from Pope if we need to after next season. And Arkansas seems pleased with him.

Right. Rupp, Hall, Pitino, Smith , Calipari all won the NCAA. This program didn’t start with Cal and it won’t end with him.

We had Sutton, Gillespie that didn’t win and they didn’t last. Pope probably won’t either.

LSU firing Ogeron and Kelly doesn’t seem to have hurt them.

I hope you are right. I really, really do. Because I never ever dreamed a coach at any major program would decide that winning was secondary to running a next-level AAU program to put certain players into the NBA.

Cal said that was EXACTLY what he was doing at Kentucky. Said it publicly. He was in the "changing lives business". He laughed off the idea of winning games.

There are already some - like Matt Jones - carrying the water for a "Welcome Calipari Back" event at Rupp. All I can say is Hell No. frick all that.

Every fan of the historically dominant SEC programs over the years in their prospective sports,FB,BB, MBB,WBB,are alike.The expectations on these HCs are unreal.Kentucky hates Pope,ALA hates De boar, some LSU fans after last week of loosing 5games were questioning his talent evaluation and coaching.TheTenn Wbb fans probably want to run off their coach.The problem is most of these negative fans don’t know anything about the inner workings of the program ,all the see is W Andy’s.ALA went to the playoffs,Kentucky is in the tourney and won a game,Jay Johnson just won a natty and Tennessee has a good but not great team.They are all winning ,why can’t people just enjoy the moment.
