If you had to have the same coach for the football and basketball teams..

which coach would you take and for which position(s)?
I say this, because in a simpler time in the 1930s, Adolph Rupp served as both head basketball coach and the then equivalent of offensive coordinator of the football team for several seasons in the 1930s.
LINK
It appears that Kentucky had a winning conference record each year from 1930-1935 when Rupp was coaching but then went winless in the SEC for several seasons in the late 1930s after he switched to basketball only.

Everyone will take their respective football coach since it's the sport that matters more. (except Mizzou, Arky, and Kentucky)

I would take Mike White over Randy Shannon right now. I don't think White could do as bad as Shannon.

I'd take Cohen, MSU AD and former baseball coach, to coach all 3

Hugh Freeze coached womens basketball, so he might have a slight advantage...besides the cheating

Saban because we don't care about b-ball as much as you guys do.

Probably true but I would try Mike Anderson out even if we didn't care about basketball

I'd love to see Saban coach a basketball team. Something tells me that if nothing else, the team would be drilled to a Bobby Knight level precision.

I would strongly consider Will Wade

Ya, if we are opening it up to all coaches there would be a long list

Saban for both.
But talking about my own coaches.
Frank Martin and it isn't even close.

I'd also love to see Coach Cal go off on someone if his team ever game up a touchdown because they played 10 men on defense or left a receiver uncovered.

Per the OP, the only criteria is to have the same coach for football and basketball

Do we really have a thread about Adolph Rupp?
Wake up. Its almost 2018

I was just thinking last night about how I'll bet Saban would be a good basketball coach too. I really think most great coaches could coach anything, if they had a little time to learn and adjust.

Couldn't do worse.
Maybe at least then we'd have some discipline.

I’d take Saban, and not just because we’re doing so well in football. He’s a great delegator and great at evaluating athletic talent. Coach A (Avery Johnson, our basketball coach) plays pickup basketball games with Coach Saban and has said he’s very basketball knowledgeable.
Now, in a previous time period, had it been Coach Shula or Franchione coaching opposite Coach A, I’d have picked Coach A, cause he’s excitable, a great motivator and recruiter, and is very marketable for the University. Plus, he’s a well-known football fan who, according to Coach Saban, is knowledgeable about the game.
