While this is a good choice, even if we win this game, and even if we go on to beat Florida in the NC, what does it really change?
Sure, we might get 1 more ring, but we were already close to the top of the hill from 2005-2009.
My choice. The 2009 NC against Alabama aka "If Colt didn't get hurt."
Texas won more college football games than anyone else not named Boise during the entire decade from 2000-2009, but when Mack lost that NC game, he saw what Saban was building, and decided to change everything to chase a ghost that didn't need chasing..
That one game started the Texas downward spiral from 2010-2022.
Maybe nothing would have changed, but at the very least, Mack probably isn't forced out in 2013 for Nick Saban.. errrr I mean Charlie fricking Strong..
As a bonus, we would have 5 rings instead of 4.
That's my pick.

1998 SEC Championship. Winning that game would have given us our 2nd SEC title (1941).

Easy answer is 13 natty against FSU
but I'll go with 06 Arkansas that year. AU finished the season 11-2. Without the L to Arky we play in the SEC tittle again against Florida for the 2nd time that season with a shot at the ship. Gus and RUN DMC ran all over us that day.

1. 2011 NCG - super obvious answer.
2. 2006 Auburn - get a rematch with Florida in the SEC game at 11-1. Winner gets a chance at Ohio State.
3. LSu Auburn 2010. Would have had the head to head vs Auburn to get into the NC.
4. 2003- going undefeated is cool. wouldn’t have split with USC.
5. pick any 1 loss season. 61, 62, 690

We beat Florida in 2008 and butterfly effect our way into Colt not getting hurt in 2009. Back to back baby.

Feels a little greedy of me regarding Alabama, so I'll play devil's advocate here and say if you're a fan of a rival program, maybe Florida's 2004 loss to Mississippi State, 20 years ago.
That upset ultimately got Ron Zook fired, which led to the hiring of Urban Meyer. (He may have gotten fired at the end of the season anyway, but still...)
Tim Tebow was set to go to Alabama until Meyer and Mullen lured him away in 2005, meaning Mike Shula probably wins more games in 2006 (Florida won the NC with him that year).
Which means Shula doesn't get fired at the end of that season, resulting in Nick Saban getting hired in 2007.
Long story short, Mike Shula maybe limps along for another year or two, but Alabama misses the window on Saban and instead hires Rich Rod, David Cutcliffe, Greg Schiano, or even makes another run at Spurrier.

7 OT game vs Arkansas missing that 2 point conversion.

Kind of along the same lines as the OP - how different does the Brian Kelly era at LSU look if the 2-pt conversion to beat us in 2021 had failed?

That's the right answer there. Texas might very well still have lost the game to Alabama, but I would have preferred to have our shot with Colt McCoy under center. It was too much, too early for Garrett Gilbert (you can blame Mack Brown for having terrible QB management - the backups never got to pass). Or at least give Sherrod Harris a shot with his legs.

Nov 18, 2011. Oklahoma State gets upset by Iowa State in Double OT. If OK ST wins that game (as a double digit favorite), LSU plays Ok St in the NC instead of Bama and Les Miles LSU offense runs all over the OK ST defense and LSU wins third national championship in less than ten years and that is one of the greatest teams of all time, with the best defense of all time.

Probably 1997 Orange Bowl, 2001 SEC Championship or maybe that abortion of a game down in Columbia a few years ago

2013 National Title game. Just hang on for about 30 seconds after we scored our last TD to go ahead and Auburn wins its third national title, and its second in three years.
That one was tough to swallow, but I have to admit that was the most fun Auburn team I have ever watched.

Mine would be Tennessee 1990. If we don’t throw that pick six, we go down for the winning field goal and win the SEC championship. We finish regular season 10-1.

Blake Gideon doesn't drop that easy pick and I'm confident we have another championship trophy. That 08 team was more loaded on both sides of the ball than the 09 team that played Bama in the NCG.

But then you wouldn't have had the Kick Six. I know you are a Bama fan and on the losing end, but that was one of the greatest moments in College Football.

Kick 6. Alabama was at its peak at the time and could out-talent anyone by a wide margin. Three in a row was highly likely if they could have survived that wild night.
