It was painful to watch. Never seen Auburn students more angry than after that game. That said, I agree with you! Just wish my Tigers will get back to making this a rivalry again. For you, it must be kind of like watching the Tennessee game for Bammers in the Saban years. This rivalry is too historically good for us to play so badly.

We will see on Saturday!
Great post and thank you for taking the time! I was at that 1992 game. 19 second ticked off the clock on that last play. I'm pretty sure when all 11 of your defensive players were finally on the ground that the coaches sent some extras in there to jump on the pile. :)

That was back in the day that the visitor's tunnel went directly under the student section. On behalf of all Auburn students in 1992, I apologize for the sheer amount of coke and bourbon that was thrown at and onto your Georgia Bulldogs as they left the stadium (although they were egging it on a bit!).

Looking forward to hopefully a good game this weekend. We haven't posed much of a threat to you guys recently, but this is a good defense and I am hopeful that the Tigers worked out their offensive kinks in the bye week.

SEC shorts this week

I am too old to figure it out, but I just saw the SEC Shorts this week. That one was probably one of the betters ones I have seen. Somebody put it on the board when you get a chance.

I kind of hate this as an AU fan, but I have to admit that the DNA test at the end for who is Georgia's daddy was classic.

14 point swing on blatantly bad calls. Seventeen if you count the three points you got after they called back the scoop and score. You guys didn't win the game. It was given to you. Keep believing otherwise Sooner.

Oh, and classy cheers by your fans. Nothing better than telling a 20 year old kid to go F himself.
Hoping for Bama, Georgia and Florida for Auburn. But I doubt we will get Florida. I really miss that rivalry. Was a great one in the 80's, 90's, and even in to the 2000s.
Hopeful but realistic. Auburn is improving, but this is a good OK team. My prediction based on how we performed the first three games is that Auburn will probably score somewhere in the 20s, and the key to victory will be whether our defense can hold in the fourth quarter. We will see!
Relax. First game with a new QB, and you don't know yet how good Florida State is (although they looked very good against your team). Coaches need to focus on offensive line play--the system is fine but your OL was horrible.

It is a long season that just started. Stop panicking and trashing your coaches and players. No offense, but you Bama fans need to take some lessons from us Auburn folks on endurance through hardship and loyalty. The overreaction from you guys has been embarrassing.
Only the most oblivious Bama fans thought Deboer (or really any other coach they hired) could have even come close to filling Saban's shoes. Season ain't over yet, and Deboer is a decent coach and y'all have plenty of talent. But he isn't Saban. Nobody is.
Really hate that we don't play you guys regularly anymore. Some of my favorite AU memories were Florida games. Always a good game. I was at AU when we beat you guys in 1989. Unbelievably hard hitting game that was won in the last few seconds with a desperation TD pass (and I'm still not convinced Shane Wasden didn't sneak off the sideline to get so wide open!)
There are two on that list that I'm OK with us claiming, especially 1983. Go back and look at that schedule that we played that year and the end results (Number 1 and 2 lost, and we were number 3, and Miami jumped us in the AP at the end). OK with claiming at least a co-title in 2004 as well. We and the SEC as a whole got screwed by the BCS selection system that year (and one missed easy field goal by Okey State at the end of regulation to beat Oklahoma and avoid all that crap).

1993? Nope, but a fun year!

The rest? Have no idea, and who cares. If we were undefeated we would have as much a claim as others.

Bo Jackson and Herschel Walker are not in the Hall of Fame?
It's Master's week. Got to learn to enjoy watching golf in the dead season. For us old guys, it is the only sport where you can take a decent nap and then wake up and you've only missed half the sporting event. :)

I miss our games as well. One of the most exciting SEC games of the 1980s and 90s, and even in the 2000s.

My pastor here in Mobile is a huge Gator fan. Represents you guys very well, but his sermons are much more "fire and brimstone" when you lose. Obviously rooting for my Tigers, but will look forward to a nice happy sermon if you win. :)

Rooting for the winner of our game in the title game, regardless of who wins. War Eagle!
1 like and 75 dislikes. I think the Rant disagrees with you.

Seriously, this is a troll post. You can argue about a lot of things, but saying Bo and Herschel were slow is too far. They were the most incredible running backs in football history, bar none. I am happy to be old enough to have seen both in person.
Auburn got very close in 1998. Got to number 2. That was a great team under Cliff Ellis.

re: We are all Longhorns today!!

Not crazy about this, but yes, you are correct. Maybe the Aggie fans won't root for you, but for most of the rest of us you guys are our rep in the playoffs. Good luck to your Longhorns!
This is one of the biggest BS statements I have seen on the Rant. You make Bama fans look bad with this kind of statement. Pompous and wrong. All because you didn't want to cede a point from the poster that your "little brother" is having a good year in state for now.

Silly.
I can't believe how basketball in the State of Alabama has changed. I was a 1993 grad from Auburn, and our biggest guy was a 6 foot 5 guy named Chris Brandt. Not sure we won more than 4 SEC games a year while I was there, and the students flat out didn't go to the games (although in our defense we were pretty awful post-Barkley and our arena was the worst). We had some decent seasons since, but only a couple. Bama had a few better seasons than us, but always seemed to lose momentum and fall back to mediocre.

Pearl and Oats have really changed things for both schools. Lots of basketball left to the played, so obviously everything could go south, but gotta feel good about beating Houston early. SEC as a whole looks pretty good this year!
But then you wouldn't have had the Kick Six. I know you are a Bama fan and on the losing end, but that was one of the greatest moments in College Football. :nana:
2013 National Title game. Just hang on for about 30 seconds after we scored our last TD to go ahead and Auburn wins its third national title, and its second in three years.

That one was tough to swallow, but I have to admit that was the most fun Auburn team I have ever watched.
