So should the NCAA basketball tournament be comprised of only division or conference champions? Because the tournament winner is crowned "National" champion.

The 2011 NC is the perpetual motion machine of melts. Time passes and you expect it to slow down and eventually subside, but it never does. It just keeps on going and going and going, on and on forever, endlessly.

All of this was true before 2011. It was true when Nebraska snuck in years before that. It is still true today.

The NCAA Tournament has 64 teams, not 4.

I swear, some of you people are just ignorant.

How does that change the conclusion that you can’t be the best team in the country if you aren’t the best team in your division? Either you are on board with that concept or you aren’t

Here's the thing: it's not true, nor has it ever been true. Your opinion of what is "fair" does not equal reality. Jesus Christ how a person like you can get out of bed and face the day is beyond me.

Says the guy arguing that a team with a 31 point loss in November to an unranked team is more deserving than a team whose only loss was on the road to #4 Auburn - just because of divisional alignment.

Do you even read the stuff you write?

Your argument that you have to be the best team in your division in order to be the best team in the country doesn't seem to have any logical relationship with the size of the playoff field.

Gotcha! I should have realized that it was a mistake, but I am dense sometimes.

How can a team that finishes second or third in their conference, meaning they aren't the best team in their conference, be considered the best team in America?

The logic doesn't hold. The logic of the committee is flawed. I know that Alabama fans love it because they see it benefitting them. But, that doesn't make it true. Alabama fans love a lot of things that aren't true.

A couple of you saying Alabama did not deserve it in 2011 are the dumbest people that have ever existed on the planet. The goal of the BCS and the playoff committee is to get the best two and now 4 teams to play in the game and that is clearly what happened in 2011 and what will happen this year no matter who they pick.

How can a team that loses by 31 points to an unranked team in November be considered the best team in America? That’s what you’re arguing for. Tell me more.

Yeah, he clarified and i should have known it. I'm feeling really, really dumb right now for not realizing that is what he meant.

How do Wild Card teams win the Super Bowl?

Neither of this year's Stanley Cup Final participants won their division.

Allowing this makes the regular season and conferences meaningless.

Only problem is that they allowed this last year, with Ohio State. Did you complain then, or wait until it applied to Alabama?

It is dumb to say it about 2011. Because it was proven that we deserved it. If Wisconsin loses to OSU and they put us in the playoff and we happened to win it, (I am not saying we will) that alone would prove that the comittee was correct. There is really no arguing that point, just like if we got in and got boat raced by someone then that would prove we don't belong.
