I would gauge interest with these exact terms. Have Spurrier tell him how great life was with Bob Stoops at DC.

Wouldn't Florida be a step down?

I can see him staying in Oxford.

A lot of people don't realize that Golden probably wouldn't have taken the UF job if not for his friendship with Billy Donovan. Sun Belt Stricklin gets no credit for that.

I think every UF would fricking protest and riot if Drink was hired.

Why would you hire him?

I have no idea. But he's the current betting favorite, and it's a VERY on brand Starkville Strick type of hire.

Don’t really understand this, he’s done a good job at Mizzou tapping into some of the potential that the job has. If you guys hired him it would be a good hire. Plus he does have a little bit of Spurrier to him. Although Florida would have to pay a ton of $ because he’s currently paid a top 10 coaching salary and contrary to what people think around here Mizzou does have a ton of money to throw around.

Flawda has failed in its last what, four or five coaches in football. This isn’t new territory for y’all

That's true.
Layla is JR's daughter.
Her family is in Tampa.
She graduated high school in Gainesville and also UF.
May not mean anything in the end but those are facts/

Drink would be best suited to go to PSU. Why would he remain in SEC meat grinder conference when he can cruise to CFP in B1G cupcake conference?

It's fairly on point for Florida. Bear in mind, it's the same school that worships Tom Petty because he cut grass there one semester.

They failed because they never went for the big boys.
Foley wanted to find a young Billy Donovan in football but never understood FIT and eventually became obsessed with the Saban tree (Muschamp, McElwain). Neither of those should've been hired and neither were a FIT for UF.
Starkville Stricklin was recommended by Foley and followed the same script with Napier.
He didn't even entertain Kiffin or Kelly who supposedly had interest.
He fell in love with Napier over a YouTube video where Napier displayed good manners. Seriously. No fkn joke.
Mullen was the best hire of the 4 but he didn't want to do the work to recruit vs UGA and Bama and started eyeing a NFL job.
He thought visiting recruits with orange and blue Jordans made him cool.
Now they realize that bargain bin shopping sh*t doesn't work and that UF needs a HC with an dynamic offense and understands his re recruiting base.
Going to UF and wanting to run a 2 TE offense or try to be the old Bama isn't going to work.
Mullen was best offensive mind and had the most success.
However, he did not want to do the work to recruit with the likes of Kirby and Saban. It was pathetic. He would accept commits on NSD from kids he knew were not qualifying just to make his class ranking look better.
He basically quit and started hoping for a NFL job.
It was mostly the UF ADs selling UF short and making idiotic hires.
This sh*t was self-inflicted and unnecessary.
Thankfully things have changed/changing. The old Foley crew are being cleaned out and they are now willing to spend more than ever and are on the hunt for someone proven.
They gave dumb arse Napier everything he asked for and needed.

Name a better hire that is achievable, and I don't think Drink is achievable.
These guys are already well paid. They are building good programs and have fan/booster support.
Kiff is happy with family in Oxford. And, his pay is about to take a significant bump.
Bad year for a coaching search and it is going to get more competitive.
Franklin or the Mad Russian might be the top of the available market. Otherwise, it is a small school U up and comer like a Sumrall or a proven assistant.
No need to be mad.

Not big on Golesh either but a big no to Drinkwitz. He is another Stoops imo.

Yes I know. Shitty AD’s are a reason lots of schools screw up the hiring process. I’m just saying it isn’t some foreign concept. Fans at UF have a right to be pissed. At least y’all got basketball hire correct
