You do realize that the 4 meat packers are in control of the pricing which with little doubt there is collusion. Inflation and collusion to set prices are a big difference. The meat packers are artificially controlling the pricing buying & selling lowballing the ranchers and raping the purchasers. Inflation is caused by government, it’s that trickle down economics you democrats invented
And two of those four meat packers are Brazilian, after Marfrig took ownership stake of National Beef (in 2018). And the "American" packers are always getting some fine or another for colluding with the Brazilians to fix prices.

Didn't Trump last week blame ranchers for high prices?
He did. He took terrible advice from the likes of American Farm Bureau and National Cattlemen's Beef Association, and the Tyson/Cargill/JBS/Marfrig-funded lobbyists.
And then the backlash on social media was such a storm that they couldn't ignore it. The packers were so fricking greedy that when cattle prices started going down the boxed beef index diverged and went higher, which made Trump look wrong because he was wrong.

The Tytler Cycle is a fascinating trend. It's amazing that the Roman Empire lasted as long as it did. Our founding fathers tried, but we've really learned nothing about that empire's longevity or its downfall.
“A democracy cannot exist as a permanent form of government. It can only exist until the voters discover that they can vote themselves largesse from the public treasury. From that moment on, the majority always votes for the candidates promising the most benefits from the public treasury with the result that a democracy always collapses over loose fiscal policy, always followed by a dictatorship.
The average age of the world's greatest civilizations has been 200 years. These nations have progressed through this sequence: From bondage to spiritual faith; From spiritual faith to great courage; From courage to liberty; From liberty to abundance; From abundance to selfishness; From selfishness to apathy; From apathy to dependence; From dependence back into bondage.”

Conservative, Inc. is a cancer that needs to be nuked and it's not just a boomer thing. Shapiro and Owens would also classify as commercial conservatives.
