The title of the post is literally an “if” conditional of Florida winning in Atlanta. Unless you’re saying Florida will lose another game before then?

if UA and Clemson win

Alabama
Ohio State
Clemson
Notre Dame

If UF and Notre Dame win

Notre Dame
Ohio State
UF
Texas A&M

assuming all those teams win the rest of their games

Assuming Bama wins out to the SEC CG and keeps it within a score in a loss to the Gators ...

Looks like Florida is in and Notre Dame is probably out especially if they lose bigly.

Would be most likely:

Florida
Clemson
Alabama / Ohio State

Assumes Ohio State wins out, otherwise, ND stays in as #4.

WT21 is a typical liberal. If my team loses, burn it down.

1 loss Clemson jumps undefeated Ohio state???

Clemson is already ranked ahead of Ohio State. That one loss means little. Clemson would also have a win over Notre Dame. What will Ohio State have? Winning the Big 10 doesn't mean much this year imo with down years for teams not named Indiana or Northwestern. Wins over those teams won't be that impressive.

This thread is about what happens if UF beats Bama. I think Bama is only SEC team in the playoff if Bama wins SECCG.

I agree with you, but I think they should. Head to head is important of course. But more importantly it would be an early season loss vs an end of season loss. Trajectory is really important in my opinion and the committee’s. Early losses in such a chaotic year are more easily forgiveable.
Reason I think Alabama would stay ahead would be purely name brand recognition. Also, gun to the head I’d still take Alabama in that rematch. But this is already entertaining a hypothetical I consider somewhat unlikely in Florida winning. So clearly my opinion on Alabama will have changed in this scenario.

Assuming everyone currently at the top wins out and the SECCG is close, in your scenario it might be:

Ohio State (undefeated)
Alabama (one close loss to #3, huge win over #5)
Florida (one close loss to #5, close win over #2)
Clemson (one close loss to #6 or so without Sunshine, with a rematch win)

The final rankings 1-4 might be different, but I think those would be the teams.

If Florida beats Alabama, I can't see A&M getting in over them, since Alabama beat A&M 52-24, and Florida only lost by three.

I also can't see Cincy/BYU/Oregon getting in over any of those teams, but if they were undefeated, that would be the "controversy."

But there's still a lot of football left.

Like I said yesterday could be chaos if the favorites lose their championship games. Clemson, UF, and Northwestern win then none of the favorites make it, other than Clemson ..

In this scenario (and assuming OSU also wins out)...

1. Ohio State
2. Clemson
3. Florida
4. Alabama
---
5. Notre Dame

Notre Dame would be left out because the committee would say Bama's schedule was more difficult.... and they'd be correct. Because Bama would have wins over Texas A&M and Georgia who would both likely be in that Top 10. Outside Notre Dame's one win over Clemson (without Trevor Lawrence), they might not have another Top 25 win.

A more difficult scenario is the one above but throw this caveat:

*Oregon and USC both go 7-0 in the regular season and then Oregon wins the PAC 12 Championship to finish 8-0.

At that point the argument becomes 8-0 PAC 12 Champ Oregon (who beat a highly rated USC team to win the title) or a 10-1 (possibly 9-1 if the LSU game is not made up) Alabama team that did not win a conference title. Everyone would think Bama was the better team, but at the same time, the committee is supposed to value conference championships.

Agreed. More likely that Bama blows UF out at this point due to UF's defense.

meh, i feel like it'll be like the FLA/LSU game from 2019. back and forth until the 3rd/4th qtr.

Florida vs Bama should be a great game. It will take a great game for Bama to beat UF as it will for the Gators to win.

The OP literally states If UF beats Bama. Who’s Florida’s other loss to?

Probably. UF will ahve to play ball control like they did for much of that game, not really in terms of running the ball, but moreso converting 3rd downs to keep Bama's offense off the field.

I'd be pissed if UF beats Bama in the SECCG, then has to play them again in the first playoff game.
