How much fear would creep its way into your frontal lobe? The fact that a careless spoiled little boy could have all kinds of toys daddy Saban bought him to use as he pleases is a scary thought.

Alabama is the only fanbase who wants Kiffin involved with their team. I think I speak for everyone else when I say, "be our guest."

he won't.

Alabama is at too high a level right now to get anything other than a proven, top notch head coach. If they do end up hiring a coordinator, it's going to be one with a proven track record like kirby.

They aren't going to hire someone to lead the program that has been an utter failure everywhere he's been with the exception of as OC with bama.

Sure is. For a Bama fan that is.

He had those kind of toys at USC.

Kiffin at Bama? I don't think anyone has a problem with this

I hate to see Alabama selling their soul at the altar of high octane offense.

I hate the spread.

But seriously, the head coaching candidates for the Tide, once Saban leaves, will be a list of the truly elite head coaches in college football, like Gary Patterson, Jimbo Fisher, Bob Stoops, David Shaw, etc.

That list should also contain Kyle Whittingham.

I don't know how Stoops would do in the SEC.

So true. I would hope Alabama understands that.

no way that'll happen in a million years.

do not want.

*edit*

it is fair to say he's done a good job from all I can tell. He's also stayed out of the media and making us look stupid... which I felt would be -inevitably- unavoidable... so, kudos to him for doing a solid job at turning his career around for step 1 for him. i also don't mean disrespect to the guy by saying i don't want him as a head coach, but i do NOT wanna go lane kiffin directly after Saban.

well that's just not true

he walked into sanctions at USC

fwiw I don't like him and wouldn't want him at LSU. Just saying he didn't have as luxurious of a situation at USC as some act.

Enough to make me drink heavily. Please, no. Kiffin had a good year at OC but by no means do I think he should be the coach at Bama unless he has success somewhere else.

Traditionally, Alabama has had the most success by having a defensive stalwart at the helm - I don't expect that to change at all. Schools have certain identities that mesh well, and Kiffin does not qualify at Alabama.

but he wouldn't have Saban there to recruit or Saban to give his wisedom to the defense and I doubt Kirby stays if he is passed over for the HC job post-Saban. So Bama would turn into A&M east, great offense but no defense.

Thread Hijack: I would love to see Coach O and Lane as head coachs at LSU and Bama at the same time in about 5 years. It will ridculously awesome or ridiculosy horrible but either way it would be fun to watch.
