LSU broke zero rules, it’s not against the rules to hold two positions open, and they were never on the roster.

As somene that has grown up on SEC pride, I am at the point that I don't even care anymore if they decide to kick LSU out. This is not my SEC.

Agreed, people can say what they want. It was a point of pride when the SEC began taking over football. It was a league wide pride that we were better than those teams in the North and USC.
Now it’s not the same. Too many teams to have the same league pride and money rules all. If we get kicked out, it’s just the slow train of killing the sport we all love.

SEC pride died with Slive. Adding in Texas and OU erased whatever small pride was remaining.
But I want to be clear, SEC has always treated LSU like the red-headed step child. Always claim we are low income and low IQ people. None of this should come as a shock.

Same. LSU should not accept any sanctions whatsoever for not actually breaking a rule. We used the judicial process to test the legality of a rule, won, and then gave the SEC what it wanted anyway.

The only thing Kiffin tested was whether or not to accept the situation as it was at the time they decided to let the kids come to to LSU (it was legal then, due to the TRO). When the SEC defied the court order to the NCAA those players updated their suit to include the SEC.
LSU did absolutely nothing except read the situation and play it as it was. When that situation changed, so did they. But LSU was never involved in any legal discussion or appearance in this entire fiasco. Lots of comments, input, trolling, and other various streams of consciousness from the Governor down to the LSU admin, but no legal actions - yet.

Kiffin (allegedly) encouraged players to bring a lawsuit against the SEC.
In what world would that be permissible for an active employe/contracted employee of a partnering institution to be tolerated without threat of removal?
That the LSU AD/President brought ZERO discipline to Kiffin makes this the only rational move for the conference.
All LSU has to do is discipline Lane and they’ll be fine. LSU has nobody to blame but themselves if this goes through…all this for a coach who has never won a playoff game.
