Arkansas is America's team now and will absolutely jump Bama and take #1.

You're right. With wins over Texas, Texas A&M, and UGA I would say that Arkansas would be deserving of #1. But it won't be easy to win in Athens, of course.

If Alabama loses to OM and Arky goes into Athens and beats #2, then sure. I don’t think that statement is as controversial as you want it to be.

Unless Arkansas were to do something crazy and win by two scores or something, I just don’t see the voters placing Arkansas above Bama even though on paper Arkansas would have the best resume.

We have a better chance of getting #1 with a close win than we do with a blow out. People will say Georgia was overrated if we beat them badly.

then IF Ole Miss beats Alabama..
Arkansas vs Ole Miss would be a Top 5 matchup and the winner would be #1..

then it could setup a #1 vs #2 if both Alabama & Arkansas keep winning..

Top 5 for sure. Unfortunately for Arkansas, preseason polls are still a thing, so you'll still be hampered by that a bit. Doesn't matter though; it'll work itself out by season's end.
