If Georgia doesn't win it all in 2021...

Is it safe to assume that Kirby Smart will likely never get it done in Athens? They're returning A LOT and there is absolutely no one in the East who will be able to compete with them. Their only rivals in the conference next season will be Alabama and LSU and they avoid both of them.

He'll never get it done. He's had plenty of time now to make all of the necessary adjustments to the program post-Richt. He has loads of talent. There's a reason it hasn't happened yet and that reason is he's not a great head coach.

We are breaking in nearly an entirely new secondary, Monty Rice from the LB core, our best pass rusher, and a big ? mark at OL.

There's potential but still a lot of questions, imo

I'm sure you'll get some good responses from non-UGA fans saying we should win it all though. Then that will be used against us leading up to the fall as people claim we were "The offseason champs" once again.

My fellow dawg fans may not like my answer, but I agree with you. Unless JT gets injured or we have a massive amount of injuries, I think Kirby starts to run out of excuses. The SEC won't be as strong next year and Kirby will have his most talented team to date. Will be interesting to see.

We will be fine at OL. The concerns there are being overblown. We are so deep with talent there.

LB will be a strong position too. We are losing Rice which hurts, but we have plenty of talent there.

The secondary is a concern of mine, but it is a talented position for us. Inexperience may hurt, but if we can snag someone in the portal I will feel a bit better.

List all of the coaches that have won a Natty in their first 5 years.

Now list all of the coaches who have taken a program that's gone over 20 years without a chip and won in their first 5 years.

Georgia is not Alabama. A playoff birth is a success. The goal is certainly a chip, but we're not buying into the championship or bust setup.

I don’t think so. If we don’t at least make the SECC I will be concerned. If we got there and lost to the greatest coach in CFB history (again) I don’t think that means we will never get it done. He has to retire eventually, right?

He will probably represent the East......but that is it.

He won't beat the West Champ, who ever that is.

And, that would make UGA the largest collection of ELITE talent that had accomplished NOTHING.

I just don't see how people say "it's safe to say he'll never win it". You can't see the future to know what's going to happen. Did anyone see O winning it last year? Did anyone see Dabo making Clemson an elite program? Did anyone see Cheesedick winning one with AU before it happened? Maybe the fanatics in their fan base but you can't write off a coach and say he's never going to win it.

It's wild to me that people have seen Ed Orgeron, Les Miles, Dabo Swinney and Gene Chizik win national championships in the last decade and still say things like "Coach X will never win a title".

August 2010 - You think Chizik is winning a title?

August 2015 - You think Dabo is winning a title?

August 2019 - You think Orgeron is winning a title?
