BS! It's not about the money and if you can't see this you'll never understand. This has more to do was setting a new standard and preventing this kids from holding a University hostage after already getting paid. It's greed and arrogance on the part of the student athlete.

UT has 2mil easily. The kid ain’t worth it. If a coach like Hueppel says he ain’t worth it and they have watched him for two years then he’s not worth it. Whoever does pay him will be considered bad for CFB. There is likely someone out there saying he’s worth 4mil. Guess we’ll find out but I doubt it

It is literally the job of a sports columnist to stir up s**t with his opinions, but this take is asinine because he’s getting way ahead of his skis as to how good Nico is.
I said it yesterday, it’s not the mere fact that he wanted a raise that got so many people pissed off. It’s the fact that he basically tried to pull a power play and get more of a raise than his performance merited, and Tennessee told him rightfully to take a hike.

Why does Goodman believe Nico is worth 4 million?
I didn’t see anything in his game that commanded that number last year.
Admittedly, I didn’t see that many UT games but I was at the AR game.

Did UT stand on principle or did they not think Nico was worth $4,000,000? If it is the former, then good for them. But if they suck at QB in the fall and Nico tears it up for over $2,000,000 somewhere else, it’s not going to be a good look. If it’s the latter, then that’s just capitalism. How many people in real jobs could demand double their salary and get it?
