I was ready to give LSU fans the inbred title due to their pathetic bandwagoning baseball/football fans…..

The SEC sure loves to deitize an 8-5 HC with a couple flash in the pan seasons

What's funny about this is that they also love to ridicule and denigrate a 10+ win HC with three seasons having less than double digit wins (two 8-5 seasons and a 9-4 season).

In 11 seasons Les Miles had 10+ wins 8 times, and never had a losing record. His worst seasons were two 8-5 records. (2016 was an 8-4 record, but he only coached like four games, so I'm not counting it)

He's the Rodney Dangerfield of SEC Football

Agreed
Georgia hated Mark Richt despite his levels of consistency, albeit no NC unlike Les Miles.

"Orgeron is the College Football story for the ages"

Why? Because he has the worst win/loss record of any coach in Ole Miss history? Because he has been paying players (his own admission) and getting caught nearly every stop he's been at as an asst. coach? Because he lucked into an interim HC job at LSU when Les was canned and then bought a ton of talent and was carried by Burrow and Joe Brady while Yaw Yaw himself stood on the sidelines looking like a wooden indian, simply because he has NEVER had a specialty as a coach? Was Yaw Yaw's fricking headset even plugged in at any time he coached at LSU? Any garbage head coach could've stood on the sideline and mumbled "Go Tigaz" and won that ring. Story for the ages my arse!!! Worst head coach to ever win a ring. Worse than Larry Coker and Gene Chizik. Dumbass LSU fans will probably build a statue of him simply for cheating on his wife and kicking her to the curb while she fought cancer.

How many teams have been knocking down his door to be their head coach? Even Gene Chizik has had 2 stints as UNC DC. Orgeron is barely even a position coach. He's just a tanned bum with a low IQ and terrible speech impediment.

The guy coached sixteen road or neutral-site games against Big Six opponents while at Auburn. He won one game.

You can’t do that.

That is not the move that hurt Auburn, it was justified. What hurt the boogs, is the AD hiring Harsin due to some off chance meeting in a hot tub during a conference, and then the plainsmen Eagles hire reverend finger fiddler Freeze. Malzahn destroyed their OLroom, and then Harsin mangled the roster, and Freeze about put the nail in the coffin. Getting rid of Malzahn was the correct move, the hirings following that were a complete failure.

The difference between Orgeron and those two is the fact that he actually built his championship team, not inherit it like Coker and Chizik did from the previous coach. Then buy a generational QB to carry a good team to the promised land like Chizik (I gotta say, an Auburn fan using paying players to negate a Coach's achievement of winning a championship is just delicious).

Coker won the NC his first season as a head coach, much less as Miami's head coach. His career after that tanked, Chizik won a NC in his second season after an 8-5 first season. after Cam Newton's one year, he went 8-5, then 3-9. He hasn't been a head coach since.

His HC record is 38-38. Take out the Cam Newton year of 14-0, and his record is 24-38. Without Cam, he would have a losing Head Coach record.

Orgeron, meanwhile, has a HC record of 67-47. 51-20 at LSU.

Orgeron"s first two seasons as official HC were very successful. 2017 he went 9-4, and then in 2018 he went 10-3.

Gus beat #6 Washington to open the 2018 season at a neutral site. That team went on to win the PAC 12 title and had Chris Petersen as their coach.

The next season, Gus opened with Oregon and Justin Herbert as their QB. It was a neutral site game. Gus won that game and Oregon won the PAC 12 title, won the Rose Bowl and finished 12-2 and ranked #6. That was also Bo Nix's first collegiate game and start.

had the same number of road wins against B6 teams in 8 full seasons that Harsin had in 17 games

Malzahn vs teams ranked in the final AP poll: 12-27 (.307)

Harsin vs teams ranked in the final AP poll: 2-6 (.333)

If there’s ever a merger between conferences I do worry Auburn could be left out now.

All 10 of those games were SEC games the season he got fired. So not your typical 6 win season when you win 6 SEC games. We have won 11 SEC games total in the 5 seasons since..

If I knew we were going to hire Harsin and Freeze I wouldn't have fired Gus, but did feel he had kind of run his course at the time.

Firing him was right. The AD's are what have held Auburn back.

As a long suffering Auburn fan, it is refreshing the the new coach is doing well in recruiting, is very good with the press and appears he understands where the program is and that it’s unacceptable to stay there. I don’t remember the exact quote but the question was something like how many wins would he consider as a success and he said championships are the goal, nothing short of that. So I am cautiously optimistic.
