I'm wondering if this was a media distraction by the bama media since the basketball team went #1.

Though I’d love to be able to take some credit for this, it’s 100% on your asshat boosters and batshit fan base. Y’all need to own this.

Tubs survived because Alabama was down and had Shula.

Tubs went undefeated right after Jetgate. 2004 Beat a good UT team twice - regular season and SEC Champ. Plus Saban was at LSU at the time. Tubs was 3-2 over Saban overall.

Every reason they are putting out there to fire the guy has nothing to do with football games. It's a damn smear campaign

I mean...your recruiting was absolutely atrocious this cycle, you didn't get anyone of substance in the transfer portal, and your high profile legacy QB himself transferred from Auburn to Oregon. Not only that, you guys are coming off a 6-7 season with inferior talent and depth to make up for the loss in graduations and transfers.

It's more than a smear campaign; it's powerful people trying to stave off a total collapse of the program.

Right before jetgate, Tubs barely beat Bama’s worst team in years. Tubs being able to ride “fear the thumb” and six straight is what led to Auburn keeping him as long as they did.

When the dam broke in 2008 and Bama ascended, Tubs was fired. Sure he got lazy at the end but with Bama being down, he could be lazy and keep his job.

Auburn benefited from the massive NCAA sanctions that were imposed on Alabama in 2002. Many of the players who might have come to Alabama to play ended up signing with Auburn.

Everything you just mentioned has nothing to do with Alabama. Thank you. Additionally, none of those reasons are the ones being pushed to get him out.

+1

Tubs benefitted greatly from Bama being down which was its lowest 7-8 year period (2000-2007) in the modern Era. Had some solid teams but 2004 was the only great team and that team was nothing compared to the Bama and Uga teams today. Tubs would not survive 4 years at Auburn in today's SEC environment. He tucked his tail and ran within 18 months of Sabans arrival because he knew he couldn't compete. Recruiting had been too easy for him.

I never said they did. I'm pretty sure I made it obvious that this push to fire him is coming from WITHIN the Auburn Family.

Actually I was put in front of a board for saying “fricking Mexican” when I was in the border patrol. Another woke agent ratted me out. I won that battle in front of the board and the guy who accused me was done.

If they don’t like the job they are doing they just need to fire him and pay him his buyout.

This coup smear campaign just to be able to fire him with cause is silly.

They made a bad hire. Pay for it.

It's also the new fad in college athletics and isn't going anywhere. This definitely won't be the last time an underperforming coach suddenly finds himself embroiled in controversy. It's no longer feasible for ADs to pay coaches salaries that are commensurate with their experience and results, so they just give them absurd contracts up front and start gathering dirt on them immediately in case they need to cut them loose without paying a $15-20 million buyout.

There is a 0% chance he survives.
Auburn is just doing the same thing that was done to Bill Clinton. Catch him lying then fire him. That way all the Auburn fans will agree he has to go.
Auburn is just waiting for the first press conference. They are going to have Marshall ask him point blank if he slept with his assistant. He’ll deny it. Then, the evidence will come out. Either she’ll come out and say they are sleeping together or there will be recorded vms or texts that show they have a relationship.
