All the pieces came together.

Crow was eaten by LSU fans as well.

But it is a program thing. The big six understands that you can capture lightnin g in a bottle any year.

But now he is a SJW warrior. He must bow to his NFL masters.

Idk why I’m here months after his Heisman season still thinking how crazy that shite was I mean Joe fricking Burrow. Out of nowhere just drops the GOAT season on everyone. I know I’m not really adding much with this thread I’m just wondering if anyone else is still confounded by how quick that all happened.
Oh, definitely. I know as an LSU fan, I was just hoping for some sort of progression to him becoming an honest, viable threat at QB, thinking 3000 yds and maybe 25 TDs (and at LSU, that would have been good). I know we had Buckeye Jeaux on the Rant calling this, but everyone thought he was just insanely trolling.

Cam > Joe
As far as a physical freak, sure. But 99% of Cam's impact came from the fact that he was probably the best RUNNER in the SEC, and still a functional passer.

Joe, on the other hand, came to the one SEC school known for not having QBs, and proceeded to play out of his fricking mind. You could set Madden to Easy Mode and not put up the numbers he did, and he did it every single game last year. Kept waiting for that sub-200 yd, 50% completion, 3 int off game, and it never happened. Never came CLOSE to happening; his worst statistical game would still be enough to consider him for SEC Offensive Player of the Week.

I know we LSU fans make a lot of noise about it, but my God, try to consider it from our perspective. We've gone decades without a real threat at QB, and suddenly we get Alltime Great performance- weekly!

Yep, if Burrell has the dog shite caliber offensive talent that Cam was surrounded with he would get beat 29-0 on the regular

The SEC media and coaches didn't think much of LSU's offensive talent going into the season. Only two players made 1st or 2nd team. Cush (C) was preseason 1st team. Lewis (RG) made the 2nd team.

60 touchdowns, 6 interceptions

5671 yards

All in one single season from an LSU QB

It wasn't really out of nowhere. 2018 was disappointing at a whole, but there were moments where you could see what he was capable of.

Somewhere in Kansas, Les wears a confused look, wonders what the frick happened, and asks for more oatmeal.

Went from "he's good enough to the point he probably won't cost us a game" to greatest season in college football history (for sure statistically, and probably most other metrics).

Good for him. Always been a fan of the kid

If you watched LSU closely in 2018 you already knew he had more talent than what the stats showed with A+ intangibles.

Obviously didn't expect what we got but he was already one of my favorite LSU players ever just based on 2018 because of the way he plays the game.

I had a solid good feeling going into 2019. I expected 10 or 11 wins and but anticipated for some frustrating losses.

I thought for sure, the playoff narrative was going to be totally dominated by Jalen vs Tua. The scars left by years of struggling offenses have made it difficult to accept what happened. The shite was amazing.
